Trapped in a world she never thought would be her life.
Dreams for the Lonely
In her mind she travels the world.
In her heart she stands still.
Trapped in a house of glass,
One rock away from shattering.
She walks a thin line of sorrow,
A path of troubles and trials.
It's an inner struggle between right and wrong.
Not knowing whats the best course.
She follows what she's been told,
She does what's expected.
Each time her heart grows a little weaker.
Each time her life gets a little harder.
She hears the words, she trembles inside.
Listens with a look of contentment.
Each syllable digs deeper through her skin.
But never once does she draw suspicion.
As the day comes to a close,
Her guard can finally drop below the surface.
She lies her head down on her pillow,
Embracing the comfort that she craves.
Her eyes can close with a sense of peace.
For a few hours she escapes reality.
Drifting to a place of calm,
To a place of silence and tranquility.
