A detective attempts to catch a serial killer

The Kirby Case - Part 2

by Pamusart

Three murders now within nine weeks.

He must ensure there are no leaks.

He’s checking convicts on parole.

Elimination is his goal.

His team has now been split in three.

They’ll analyze the clues they see.

They’ll each take charge of one poor girl.

All girls have hair that’s tightly curled.

The M.E. does already know

that each had died not long ago.

There’s no known link for them to see

or evidence they tried to flee.

Each team has one who makes the call

ensuring that he sees it all.

It’s ev’ry day the trio meets

to see which evidence repeats.

That’s how a pattern may be found.

All three were murdered on the ground.

It seems that now they’ve caught a break

from footprints found at Kirby Lake.

From lake to land’s just three short yards.

A team is there and tightly guards

the prints of shoes in moistened sand.

They’re halfway to the grassy land.

The nearby sand is really wet.

They soon could tighten up the net.

They also found the prints of heels

and drag marks leading to the kills.

No shoes were found along the way

from lake to where the bodies lay.

It seems they’re trophies that he keeps.

The clues have grown in bounds and leaps.
