Christmas Campfire

by Jewell Hermann

Thoughts shared thru sound waves

Glossy paper torn, bag stuffing pulled

Much scrumptious food enjoyed

Games new and old played

Away from chatter walks someone

Over a smattering of snow, firewood held in their arms

Oh so calm, night of Christ's birth, kindling lit

People held dear filter out under a sky, stars diminished by city lights

Hands warmed, tales told

Thoughts held in sight of stars so bright

Oh what a delight to be with family on this warm Christmas night.
