An unexpected find
The Letter S

My partner and I were staying in a hotel by the sea for a weekend. We were staying on the sixth floor. As we stepped out of the lift on the first day, we thought we saw something shiny on the carpet in the corridor, but didn't take any notice.
The next day we were going downstairs, when my partner, who has sharper eyes than me, noticed the shiny thing was still there. He picked it up to examine it, and found it was a piece of jewellery! In fact, it was the letter "S" picked out in diamonds, or at least what appeared to be diamonds.
As we are honest, we immediately agreed to hand it in. We took it to reception and explained we found it in the corridor.
The receptionist appeared delighted. "Oh, yes, I've had an inquiry about this. Thanks, guys!"
