All Those Years Ago

by Regina Elliott

In my very being,
my agonizing helplessness,
I just knew what terrible experience
you went through as a boy at
the Children's Home.
The moment you alluded to-
you not telling anyone,
all those years ago.

You grew from a boy to a man.
I didn't know what to do,
what to say.
You did so many good things
in your life.
My sorrowful compassion
to you in yesterdays and
today.
I cherish you still,
God forgives me,
from not knowing what
to do.
I repent and atone for all
my sins,
and for sins committed
in youthful and older
foolishness and meaness
against you.
Dear man I love you,
and Jesus holds us tight,
and He loves both of us. ~
