A minute poem for the contest

Love in New England

by June Sargent

sweet memories of our hometown

dressed in a gown

of golden hues

swirled with chartreuse

the county fair would tantalize

with apple pies

and pumpkin bread ~

we were well fed

as leaves began to pirouette

let's not forget

our tender kiss ~

first taste of bliss
