A swap quatrain sonnet

Time has but one goal

by royowen

Time has one goal, it leads to death,
'twill never cease till our last breath.
This shell is lent, time takes its toll,
it leads to death, time has one goal.

To freeze my thought, fate's finger points,
I wonder why my doom anoints.
What have I sold, what have I bought?
Fate's finger points to freeze my thought.

Is there a plan, is life a joke,
am I a pawn a jest to soak?
Is time a maze or ditch to span,
is life a joke, is there a plan?

As I have found time is profound,
it marks our steps to Holy ground.
If one looks up beyond fate's mound,
time is profound as I have found.

Time is a test, it's not a jest,
it's not a jest, time is a test.

Psalm 16:10
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will dwell securely. For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay. You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
