Spiritual Haiku Experience

by sunnilicious

Sunnilicious' Writing Prompt

1. Pick up some writing tools, (pen, pencil, paper, etc...).
2. Find a window.
3. Look around outside for as long as you'd prefer.
4. Take a quick stretch.
5. Look out the window again.
6. Find something in Nature that appeals to you, (bird, bug, flower, plant, nature scene, squirrel, etc...).
7. Write a haiku, (3 lined-poem about Nature in the total of 17-syllables), about what you see.
8. Optional: Draw a doodle or picture
9. Take a quick stretch.
10. Read you poem aloud to yourself.
11. Think about the whole process you just put yourself through to write this haiku.
12. Feel proud about your accomplishment.
13. Stuff your poem in your pocket or display somewhere you can easily get to it.
13. Go on with your day.
14. When you need a pick-me-up for the day, (week, month or until you decide to take another spiritual haiku experience), refer to this haiku poem and remember how you accomplished this task.
15. Feel happy about yourself.
16. Take a stretch.
17. Go on with your day with a peace of mind.
18. Repeat this writing prompt, as much or little that you choose.
EXAMPLE: Haiku (green fig...)
green fig on the tree
fruit grows bulbous and roundish
slow-motion balloon

Note: I wrote the haiku included in the writing prompt. It is an observation from looking out my window. Seventeen syllables.

My writing prompt is meant to be a creative writing exercise to boost self-confidence. But if being spiritual makes you a poet in the process... Well, so be it.

I advise 15-minutes of quality time in the morning time with yourself. The truth, the first time might take up to 30-minutes. The more you observe and write, the quicker the process. Even if you're done in a few minutes, take the time to reflect on nature and/or your poetic writing accomplishment.

Building confidence is a process like this writing prompt. Be your creative self on what you see and write. It is your perspective to enable you as you feel more spiritually grounded and content.

And note, that added gif is not you... It's a dizzy bug.
