Pondering
Sweet Reveries
To sweetest memories I cling
and all the joy to me they bring.
Confess to living in the past,
my way to keep it, make it last.
The times I take these mental trips,
then all the sadness in me slips
away as though it never was,
and over happy thoughts I pause.
That’s when from grinding, gripping grief,
my heart can find some sweet relief.
Then come away, my soul renewed
to find a happy attitude.
