Shadows on my wall
Caught A Glimpse
I've seen some shadows in my house,
at night after I've gone to bed.
I've never seen them there before,
but they're something I've come to dread.
Who could these ghostly shadows be?
They pass by quick in just a wink
from out the corner of my eye,
I get so scared that I can't think.
Sometimes my light is on all night,
it brings me comfort, helps me rest.
But still an eerie feeling comes,
my nerves are then put to the test.
Scary movies once were my jam,
I used to love movies with ghosts.
Now I can't watch them anymore,
those thrills that I once loved the most.
Trust me when I say to you,
that I'm not happy with this state.
Do beautiful souls haunt my house,
or evil spirits filled with hate?
I have a cat who hides away,
I have a dog who howls all night.
They dislike shadows just like me,
preferring things out in plain sight.
Though sticks and stones can break my bones,
dark shadows can never do me harm.
That may be true, but still they tend,
to both startle and alarm.
I've accepted they're here to stay,
to haunt my house they have a bent.
Too bad spirits are moneyless,
it would be nice to charge them rent.
