Pregnant Person? Say What!
by Elizabeth Emerald
Rant @ two cents
Old news in UK (2017) but news to me, now that the US has followed suit as regards the wording in CDC (Centers for Disease Control) recommendations for vaccination.
Official guidelines issued by the British Medical Association say mothers-to-be-should be referred to as 'pregnant people.'
This brilliant declaration was inspired by their learning of a case of ONE (at that time) pregnant female who'd been planning surgical transition to male after the birth.
Here's a thought: Refer to pregnant men-in-process as pregnant people. Let the other 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 per cent of the pregnant population continue to be called pregnant women.
I'm all for transgender rights, but this is ridiculous.
I am sorely tempted to classify this piece as satire.
