Stories-Factual or Fictitious

Everyone has a chronicle they must tell
Something on their life; a short narrative
Perhaps the old story told of William Tell
Hero of Swiss Independence; objective
Historians weighed; questioned a fable
Extensive research achieved; collective
Suggests the legend purely a fairytale
As was the fictitious Peter Cottontail

This is my first attempt at writing an Ottava Rima poem for the Potlatch Club--ottava rima. I'm reaching above my comfort zone and welcome any and all suggestions. I had to start somewhere.
