Our golden retriever rests in peace under the rainbow.

Goldie under the rainbow

A rainbow is a sign of hope
Promise of better times
Not so for my family though
The rainbow represents sorrow
We buried Goldie under one
She was my Golden Retriever
The best dog ever for ten years
A drunk driver took her away
He was an Irish Leprechaun
Goldie, our family's pot of gold
Was buried beneath a rainbow
She visits on rainy afternoons

Write a poem of any kind about a rainbow.


Folklore says that Leprechauns stole a pot of gold from the Vikings and buried it at the end of a rainbow.
Format similar to a minute poem with each line having 8 syllables.
