Repetitive Sedative

by John Pittman

Round over head lights

You shine so bright

My focus on you, makes me lose my sight

Oh, what's this? The sting. The smite.

It's a sedative. They said. It has a bite.

Here's a repetitive sedative please don't fight.

Repetitive sedative

Repetitive sedative

My eyes are falling

No they're calling

I hear a beeping

Now it's slowing

My repetitive sedative, it's going, it's flowing.

Repetitive sedative

Repetitive sedative

What's that you say? I can't hear you.

My mind is changing to a different venue.

I said the medicine should be seeping in you.

Rest your eyes so we can continue.

Sir, your repetitive sedative will soon consume you.

Repetitive sedative

Repetitive sedative

One to two hours they said at most.

I think it was their brilliant boast.

My skin is separated by metal posts.

Their scalpels they held up to toast.

I think his repetitive sedative has taken a host.

Repetitive sedative

Repetitive sedative

Sir, your movements are now slow

Your consciousness will be so, so

You might be wondering though?

Where did you go?

You are in recovery. Recovery? Yes recovery, your sedative will no longer flow.

Repetitive sedative sedative sedative...
