FanStory wrote to Dick Waters: me + YOU = US finished second in the contest "5-7-5 Love Poem"
Dick Waters: Thanks to the readers who read this piece and liked it enough to vote for it.
A writer's greatest compliment is when the reader likes it enough to read it again.
    Thanks FanStory. -

Dick Waters: There was a time when I did so much reading at work, that it wasn't a joy to read at home. Then, two cancers slowed me down and reading was something that took my mind off things.
Then I realized that I had some stories kicking around in my head, and I started writing for me.
After a few self-published books, I'm trying to write what I hope the reader will enjoy.
Thanks for listening.
Dick

roof35: I went to Amazon and got Heart to Heart Anthology on my kindle. Loved the Teddy Bear's Promise and will read it to my grandson. I will read your other writings in this book, too. Thank you. -

Dick Waters: There was a time when I did so much reading at work, that I hated to read books at home.
Then I had two cancers in the same year, and it forced me to read. I got hooked on two authors who wrote short chapters.
I felt I could write a novel, but when my wife laughed at me, I had to write it.
I wrote a five-novel series for me.
Now I write with the hopes of somebody else enjoying what I write.
All of the encouragement I get...keeps me writing.
Thanks for listening.
Dick
Marjon van Bruggen: Writing is a pleasure. For some also a way of life (I think I cannot live fully if I couldn't write) but above all a pleasure. If you like to write a novel, then do it, even if it only for the joy of it. Doesn't matter if it ever gets published. Just sit and do it, Dick! -

We need to treat other people the way we would like to be treated, regardless of ANYTHING else. -

Thanks for the many memories Mr. Kelley. -
