Darlene Franklin: I stumbled upon some exciting news last night. Forgive me if I boast! I've had a boost in my book sales recently, so I was checking online to see if someone had written about me or promoted my books without my knowledge. Well, no. But I did discover that I hold the #2 author ranking in the category of anthologies and collections at Thrift Books. And they have one million books in inventory! Unfortunately, I don't make a penny out of their sales, but I'm blown over by that degree of popularity. |

Darlene Franklin: I was ready to quit FanStory last month, and I'm so glad I didn't. I currently have three books in the works, inspired by what I've written here; and the desire to post daily, to participate in contests, keeps me working on them instead of letting them slide in favor of something else! Thank you for the creative environment. Oh, and I already have a publisher for 2 of the books. |

Darlene Franklin: What a banner day yesterday was! The kind I can take out and revisit the next time I'm discouraged. My poem, Fan the Flame, placed first in the temptation contest; my poems, Colors, My Family and Me, received that 15th review and recognized status; and I reached 4 works of short fiction and jumped into the standings at 172. Thanks to all of you who have encouraged me, reviewed my work, helped me understand this website better, and who've voted for me. |
