GowerHug: Just uploaded a poem I wrote for the funeral of my dad-in-law which was last month. My OH and I spent the last 3 months there, helping take care of him so he would not need to spend his last weeks in hospital - he was very clear that he did not want to die in hospital. The poem is a pen portrait of Donald, describing his life and his final days. I like to think he would have loved it. He was a wonderful man and very loved.
Jannypan (Jan) : I commend you for writing a tribute to your father=in-law. However the mention of the fact that you posted it etc. is like asking for reviews. These sentiments are heart-felt, but they belong in your author notes. I would delete this from your profile page & add the notes in your author notes. I'm only trying to be helpful. Sorry for you loss. -

GowerHug: Ex-teacher, early retiree, rediscovering a love of writing poetry and prose. Currently working on a YA novel and a poetry chapbook. Love being out on the local beaches with my dogs or up in the skies above Swansea, trying to learn how to fly a microlight. Love food so a constant dieter. Hope you enjoy reading my poems. Any feedback appreciated.

5-7-5 An Introspection In Seventeen Syllables Moments I Have Lived
I have found it rather amazing that an existence of time can be expressed in such few words and yet provide a specific and definitive explanation.

Great reviews:
Raw with emotion - love and pain, regrets and hope, truth and tragedy. It touched me at points, made me choke up.
