Poetry, painting, and animals

I started writing poetry when I was 16.. and let's just say, that is a LONG time ago! :) I have had a few things published in small magazines, but fear of failure kept me from every really trying.. Now, that I am retired, I have been able to really dive into my creative, artistic pool and I come up feeling unbelievably refreshed and envigorated after every 'swim.' Writing has always been almost a necessity for me -- a lifesaver in many regards.. because I worked in the legal profession for over 30 years.. and my soul could have withered and died if I didn't have a creative-heart outlet to plug into! I knew early on, that the legal field is not conducive to helping the 'creative-child' flourish! I recently started painting too --- which is something I have always wanted to do, but never felt I would be any good, because I had trouble even drawing "stick people" !! Now I am practicing and playing with my artistry, I no longer have any fear blocking me from developing my full potential, as an artist.
I am soooo grateful for this website.. it really is a God-send.. and I am simply blown away by how many fantastic writers are on FanStory.. it boggles my mind, it really does. I love everyone's writing, because you can instantly tell it was created very lovingly and with true dedication. Here's to a journey together filled with treasures from within and relishing the joy of sharing the bounty!
