Elijah Davis: 7Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. -James 4:7-10 |

Elijah Davis: This is a Facebook post my favorite professor I had when I attended Southeastern Baptist College posted today. I thought it would be perfect to share with all of you on here. "It is impossible to sing or read some of the great hymns and not see that the words flowed freely from individuals whose hearts were exploding with the understanding and appreciation of the grace of God. Oh, for a revival of hymn writing." -Bro. Joey Harris Come, Thou Fount of every blessing Tune my heart to sing Thy grace Streams of mercy, never ceasing Call for songs of loudest praise Teach me some melodious sonnet Sung by flaming tongues above Praise the mount, I'm fixed upon it Mount of Thy unchanging love. Composed by Robert Robinson |

Daily I'm constrained to be Let that grace now, like a fetter Bind my wandering heart to Thee Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it Prone to leave the God I love Here's my heart, O take and seal it Seal it for Thy courts above - | ||

Elijah Davis: Just as it says in Psalm 23:4, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." So do I retain a similar sense of peace and strength when I write. My whole life writing different works whether they had been poems, scripts, short stories, etc., has given me an outlet to release any negativity and a inlet to absorb wisdom and strength. |
