FanStory wrote to emptypage: For Love of a Basketball finished third in the contest "Parenthood: An indelible memory"

emptypage: Before anything, I'm a mom to three fur babies, an Australian Shepherd, a Fox Terrier, and a Rat Terrier.

After that, I write. I have written all my life. I've made a bit of money at it (no complaints, but I certainly can't quit my day job) and been in touch with the sheer joy of creating. I don't breathe if I don't write.

I'm a bit unwell, and that has affected every part of my life, especially my writing. Some days, my mojo just isn't available. Some days I write out of pure anger or sadness or loss. At least on the days I eke something out I don't feel like a total loser.

I'm passionate. I have an immensely huge mouth that keeps me in hot water, but I wouldn't trade it. I went through eons of therapy to find my voice and I'm not giving it back now, for friends or money.

I'm eager to learn more here--about all of you and about myself.

Peace.
michaelcahill: You will find yourself most welcome here. Welcome to the land of your own kind. :)) -
TigerShelby : I love what you said about yourself and can totally relate. I am a Breast cancer Survivor of 10 years. Recently have lost my husband, brother, sister, mother, father, best friend and dog .
I have learned, it never gets any easier, but being passionate about everything you do, especially our writing helps. Good luck to you, this is a great place to be! Welcome. -
Linda Engel: Well, you've come to the right place to get down and let loose and share. So many interests here. So many friends. Welcome. -
davisr (Rhonda): I concur with michaelcahill, you are among friends, and you are among your own kind. It feels nice. People will help you along the way, as much as you will help us! -
JACK2: I think that author speaks from his heart and is willing to stand up for it .I also believe that they are very close to their dogs. They definitely need to be heard. That is a given being a writer myself. -
pome lover: Sorry you're not well and hope you're back to normal soon. Above all (well, not all, but...) keep your sense of humor and keep it in your writing. Have found that it makes it more fun.
    Best wishes, pome lover -

5-7-5 An Introspection In Seventeen Syllables Moments I Have Lived
I have found it rather amazing that an existence of time can be expressed in such few words and yet provide a specific and definitive explanation.

Great reviews:
Raw with emotion - love and pain, regrets and hope, truth and tragedy. It touched me at points, made me choke up.
