Msmasero: I always speak out my mind. I see something strange I will address it. It's the only way to clear any misunderstandings.

Msmasero: "Reviewers are a reflection of your future fans"
-@msmasero-
Twilightspire: Heh heh. That explains it. -

Msmasero: I have been active here for 15days. It's alarming the way some writers can't accept constructive criticism.
Feedback is free. That's why you take it if you need it & you ignore it if you think you don't need it.
With that said, am learning quickly the vibe here....
nor84: Don't judge the rest of us by what you've seen. MANY here want to know if something could be better. Like you said, they can take or leave your suggestions. Anyone getting nasty to a reviewer can be reported to site administration by clicking Contact Us at the top of this screen. All a writer is supposed to say is 'Thank you' and he or she can't defend their work. It's against site rules. -
Msmasero: This is some writers I have encountered. I haven't said everyone. I am saying "some". That's all. -
costellsgirl33: I love constructive criticism but on certain days, I don't take it so well. Especially if someone tells me my work can be better but not tell me why. But I agree with you. -
shelley kaye: feel free to review anything of mine at anytime lol

    -
Taffspride: I read through some of your reviews and the responses. To be honest I did not see any thing from the authors that was in any way nasty. Many of them asked why you had given 4, or in several cases much lower ratings with no constructive suggestions on how the work could be made better. That is what feedback is about. Anything less than a 5 star rating should have an in-depth review of what could be done to improve the work. Not just the reviewers personal feelings about the piece. Several writers on the site (Nor84 to name one and Rama Devi also, I believe) have written in depth essays on how one should review. Since you are very new here you will not have had the opportunity to read any of these works. You might take some time and check out their portfolios and find the work. It will help enormously to understand what constitutes a good review. -
Msmasero: Hi taffspride, are you able to view my disabled work?

I have been active here for about 16days. Meaning I am new & You do realize that's my personal observation which can be subjective or objective.

I noticed something & I am sharing it here.
Doesn't matter if someone has been here five years or two weeks. Fact is we have reviewers who can't accept constructive criticism. -
Taffspride: I was looking at your comments made to other's works. It is good to give a range of ratings, and I commend you for that. However when it is not accompanied by suggestions on how the work can be improved, you are not really helping the author. I saw authors asking for an explanation on why the low ratings. For example why not tell them why the work did not resonate with you. Perhaps you might say something like. "It did not flow well when I read it aloud." I am throwing out ideas of how you can help others with your reviews. I do realize your personal observation is valuable. However, I read many pieces on the site that is not my favorite genre, I do not tell the author that, but try to be objective and concentrate on how the overall writing style might be better worked. The length of time some-one has been here doesn't matter. There are some wonderful reviewers here who have not been here long, and whose input I value greatly. Most who are serious about their writing want to improve. And that can only be done by pointing out where it might be changed.

Charlene0513: My sincerest concerns for your disability. I too have a disability and can only work with one hand but I still have my faith and hope in God the Great I Am to believe in my healing, regardless how long it takes I continue to pray and read His healing scriptures to someday be blessed with total and complete healing of my cerebral palsy.
God is Great; He will never stir you wrong. -
Twilightspire: Taffspride couldn't have said it any better. Feedback is what is important. Anyone can say they dislike something, but it takes a great reviewer to at least help the author improve it with suggestions.
I love getting a 3 or 4 star review, as long as it's backed up with why you thought it was that way. God knows, Nor84 has given me my fair share of 4 stars for grammar. As long as you are helping an author, there shouldn't be a problem. -
Taffspride: Thank you Twilightspire I love getting 3 and 4 stars for reviews that truly help me improve. I won't always agree with the suggestions at first, but when I revisit the work and make changes I can see how much better it becomes. After all, if I work was perfect we would not need help right? Hugs.

Taffspride: oops, that should have read, if the work was perfect. Hard to edit on my Nook.

pafaust: Here's my take on the great reviewer argument that seems to be brewing. I understand that everyone that sits down to write a story or poem has a special feeling about that poem. They cared enough to put their feelings into words. If what he/she is talking about is not special to me, I may finish reading, but won't review. I don't feel that the writer will gain any benefit from me saying "it was boring" or "poetry is just not my thing". -
pafaust: I meant to say "special feeling about that piece" instead of "poem". The prose vs. poem is a whole different can of worms, I know. -
Msmasero: Pafaust, you have nailed it. It took me ten years to share any of my writings. I wrote my stories, jokes n never shared them. It's like i was writing for myself. My pieces were very special to me. The thought of sharing them made me feel naked. I knew I couldn't handle any criticism from any one. I understand what you are saying. Like I said it took me 10yrs to share any of my story. -

Msmasero: Giving is much better than receiving. Review someone else work at least once a day.
By giving feedback you also achieve personal growth.
WriterX13: this is great, it is very helpful to everyone. I am always looking for ways to grow. Sometimes we make things complicated. Just simple things lk this helps the most. -
    rama devi: Yes! -
    Msmasero: 👍 -

Msmasero: I am currently working on two books.
Writing is challenging but very rewarding.

Msmasero: I write quotes. ....mostly...inspiration quotes.
I am also learning to add humor to my writing.

- write everyday-

Msmasero: Write every single day.
Create great stories in your mind first then transfer to paper.
OLA THOMAS: Writing is fun and instinctive coming from a creative mind. The only instructive therapy to writing is "write, write, and write. Keep writing!!! Just write something. With Love!!! -
    Msmasero: Creating is the best!!!
Finding inspiration in normal conversation is a huge boost to any writer.
Yes. Let's write, write, write, -
