FanStory wrote to Emily George: Someone else finished second in the contest "Someone Else"
Emily George: I love contests on this site, and have entered a few. Thanks for giving me a second place in this one. -

Emily George: Thanks adew pearl for mentioning in your review of Dr. Dip that you use classic fanstory I have changed back and am much relieved to have found my old friend again
adewpearl: I'm glad it's working out for you! I know that MANY of my old friends here use the classic form, which just didn't need fixing as far as many of us are concerned. :-) -
mrsmajor: I'm sticking with the classic form too, it was, and still is fine for me... -
Selina Stambi: Classic for me too! If Classic goes, I go! -

Emily George: Happy new year everyone
♥ Emily
DIS-illusioned: Pff, where've you been? The new year's over already. -

Emily George: I just read a minimalistic poem and was told my review was too short.
Really.
granny goes viral: Just write Yada Yada Yada, for three lines, after you say want you want to. Really, a five word poem doesn't need 15 words to review. -
granny goes viral: Sorry Tom, but computers are not human. -
Emily George: Thank Granny I agree and it's quality not quantity -
    Lovinia: Hey fellow Aussie

I live on he Central Coast.,, before that Arcadia ... we're almost neighbours. :)))

    Hi Emily

You will have to ask Linda (l.raven) where she gets her squirrels from. There are many sites. Look for the embed button and copy the html address and continue as below.

I go to GlitterArt ... click on the category ... click on your selected image ... copy the html address below the art ... click on your/a friend's profile page (or in your writing page) and paste. The address will come up and when you press save the image will appear. Thanks for popping by. Hugs - Lovi xoxo -
    Lovinia: -
    Emily George: Thanks love it
    -
    Lovinia: Ha! -

Emily George: I have a question
When entering contests can another person enter your profile, if they suspect the blind entry is yours. Or is it not shown in your profile until after the contest over
michaelcahill: Yes. All the entries are listed normally under the entrants profile like a regular posting. -
granny goes viral: Really? That makes no sense. -
Emily George: I just realized this might sound like a complaint it's not. It's just an observation.
I kind of stumbled on it by chance. -
granny goes viral: I make it a rule not to respond when I am directed to check out a blind entry by someone I know, via message. One of the few rules I actually follow. A contest is not a contest if it is fixed. You know, like elections. -

Emily George: Come on! Answer me, are you all a sleep AGAIN.
Oh right just looked at Newyork time your probably just waking up. Which is no excuse.
Twilightspire: Heh heh. Crazy, isn't it? -
Robin Gilmor: Just noticed your favorite quote. I like it but I love:
?I don't think..." then you shouldn't talk, said the Hatter.?
    Smiles, :) -
Emily George: So do I, thanks for dropping by.I love the rabbit too
    "I'm late,I'm late
    For a very important date.
No time to say hello,No time to say Goodbye.I'm late.
This always makes me laugh I know people like that.It reminds me to go slow. -
Selina Stambi: Smiling like the Chesire Cat .. time to disappear.

    "Off with her head!" -

Emily George: Just took a break from reviewing and its stating to snow here in the southern hemisphere 7pm in Aussie land nearing winters end.
Twilightspire: No time for breaks! You still have seven chapters of my novel to review. :D -

Emily George: Happy 4th July

Emily George: When you enter a competition is there anywhere you can find out how your work was judged whether for good or bad. I find it lacking in response from judges(This applies particularly to free comps
adewpearl: The judges on the contest committee do not leave comments other than to say who came in first, second and third in the site-sponsored contests. -
michaelcahill: It has been suggested that judges comments would be nice. I think the site has it on the back burner for consideration somewhere. Bring it up on the forum. That has been known to work from time to time. -

Emily George: Oh is it 4.49am there its 9.55pm my side of the world.
I thought you were just bored,but your a sleep.lol

Emily George: A quote from my favourite poet
"What good are fans?
You can't eat applause for breakfast.
You can't sleep with it."

Just for fun I won't say who, wonder if someone can guess?

Emily George: Just happened again I was reviewing Queen bees and the drone bee gets his just reward you should read it. Well I will go back and see if I can read without the site closing
Selina Stambi: Welcome to Fanstory, Emily - belatedly! -
Robin Gilmor: Dylan, said it. Smiles, Robin :) -
Emily George: Yes Dylan did Robin Gilmor just read your answer
    -

Emily George: On the main page I keep getting half way through a story and it flicks back to previous read.Same in profile thoughts a whole converstion of a person disappeared as I was replying

Emily George: It's great we have so many proof - readers on site
thanks.
jadapenn: Hi Emily, welcome to Fanstory. Hope you enjoy experience. We're like a nice international family. I saw you flying a banner with Not To Be Denied. Best practice is not to use capitals for the headings. Keeping chapters to 1000 to 1500 words gets you more reviews. That's my 2c worth. Have an awesome weekend. -
Emily George: Thank you. Will do though I thought it was released chapter by chapter like the one's I have been reviewing. -
Sylvia Page: Welcome to the site Emily. You will find the members here are like family and will always help you. Just call out. -

Emily George: When I enter a contest am I supposed to promote my work?
If so which is the best way to do so.
vapros: You can promote it, unless the contest specifically prohibits it. Buy one of the $6.55 certificates, to make it available for two days, and then use 'member cent pumps' to move it higher on the list of available work. Hopefully, you have earned enough FS money, thru your reviews, to finance your review, without spending cash. Personally, I don't find that promotion is effective for bringing in votes in a contest, but I promote it if I like my work. I never try for the front page - it's too expensive. -
Emily George: thankyou for thr info:very helpful -
Selina Stambi: Welcome to Fanstory, Emily. Popping in to say hello. -

Emily George: I was reviewing a book chapter last week when the site closed for maintenance. I noticed when the site reopened it had not been saved.Very frustrating. It was about a new prison guard who shot a prisoner in a riot. I was enjoying. Is Author out there, can you or anyone give me the title. How do I revisit work of interest.
nor84: I hope the writer used his own computer and wrote in Word, pasting to the site. If he wrote directly on the site without saving, chances are the thing's lost. Maybe someone will remember the story and tell you the author's name so you can send him a PM. -
Michaelk: Sorry it took me so long to answer. However, it seems that you found the story again without my help. Hope you keep reading. -

Emily George: I have had a great week enjoying reading and sharing.I have passed on some books only because I have to grab moments here and there, like everyone working. Thanx for encouragement still navigating my way around. Still trying to figure the? instead of inverted comma thing. So I"m blond LOL
TheWriteTeach: Welcome to the family, Emily. This is a great place to hone your craft. -

Emily George: do you have to pay for everything thought it was free already paid membership
adewpearl: I've never spent a penny beyond my membership fee, but I do earn member dollars to promote my work by reviewing the work of fellow members. -
nor84: When you write something and post it, it's a good idea to have built up enough "FanStory" member dollars to promote it. You earn the member dollars, as Brooke said, by reviewing the work of others. If you pull down INFO at the top of this screen, you'll find Frequently Asked Questions and other info that may help you.

    Welcome to Fanstory! -
TheWriteTeach: I've never spent a penny, either. But you can if you want to. You do need to pay to post your work and to promote it, but if you build up member dollars, you use them and not your real money. -

Emily George: i have just done a childrens story could be extended did it for nanowrimo when someone at work told me about it. its two chapters long.I know i have alot to learn but i love writing poems and usually get half way through writing stories this is the first one kind of complete.Really excited to join you guys
