JM daSilva: I'm putting some information about asperger and autism here because until I was five I couldn't even interact or smile, then I started changing thanks to those thing I did and those people did the same. One thing I studied 'to be human' as I used to say to my mom was language and body language like this. I studied intonation, grammar, punctuation and many other stuff to learn to interact with people. I seriously do not understand why many doctors are not using this. One of the guys even mentioned spider-man, which was the comic book that started getting me to interact with people through learning language and body language. When I say language, I mean everything, grammar, punctuation, spelling, intonation, phonetics, linguistics in a sense. But to me it was not academic, it was just a way to learn to deal with people.

Asperger's Syndrome, Neurolinguistic Programming, and Language Emphasis by Andrew Bushard
MidnightWriter4U: Many doctors do not use anything that doesn't spell dollar signs. I've met a few opposites that would go to any length to help young patients. Wish there were more of them and less of the other. -

nor84: I once had the pleasure of hearing a presentation by an editor for Kensington (Kate Duffy) who was speaking to aspiring writers. She suggested that manuscripts submitted to her be approximately 80,000 words. That was in 2000, I believe. I'm sure she would have taken manuscripts in the 65000 to 75000 range as well. -
JM daSilva: Yeah, I'm sure. They make a distinction between novels and novellas, but even animal farm is regarded as a novel. It depends a lot on many other aspects, not just word count. Thanks for dropping by. -

JM daSilva: Guys, I'm very happy my book, Spagtionary, is holding the position in the best sellers list.
It's competing with the classics in about the same price range, and holding its position, even though I haven't done any more promotions because I'm testing word of mouth.

Thanks for your support.

JM daSilva: spagtionary unexpected success in Germany. Here is a blog article.

Look at the ranking.

JM daSilva: No doubt about it. lol. -

JM daSilva:
rosehill (Wendy): Well, I think that about covers it. -
JM daSilva: I'm going to try other covers, of course. Thanks. -
Celtic~Soul: That cover's pretty cool. Who did it? -
JM daSilva: My son thought of the concept. He usually takes care of marketing, but he dabs into other stuff and prepared this cover for me. Thanks for letting me know that. It's very important. -
Celtic~Soul: Looks really professional and engaging. Kudos to your son. -
JM daSilva: Thanks a lot. He is just 17 but is a go-getter. Do you believe he's been studying book marketing ever since I started writing and he surprises me every day? He has read all the books on that, and he is now heading the marketing team, three guys and two women. But I didn't promote him because he's my son, I'm tougher on him than anybody else. Anyway, I'm proud of him. I guess you figured that out. lol. -
Adri7enne: Looks like a good choice, JM. Very creative. -
JM daSilva: Thanks a lot, Adri7. I'm glad you like it. -

JM daSilva: Very funny. I changed the category of my book to short stories with grammar tips. Meaning that short stories is the main thing, but the grammar is a plus and I've sold more! lol. What does it mean? Spagtionary 2 will be promoted as short stories with an extra thing, grammar. Marketing is a funny thing. Spagtionary is winning now and in the area I want, storytelling. Yay! Thanks, everybody.

Here is my position now. Best seller in short stories, free.
I've learned a precious lesson today.

Thanks fanstory and you guys.

JM daSilva: SPAGTIONARY, THE EBOOK, IS FREE ON AMAZON FOR THREE DAYS.
Check out the book you helped me write, my friends.
Sally Carter: Thanks for that. I'll give it a try and post a review. -
JM daSilva: Thank you very much, Sally. -
Joy Graham: I'll check it out. Thank you! -
JM daSilva: Thank you very much. -
Sally Carter: I got it! Can't promise a quick read, as I promised Waterman/Joe Hudson I'd finish his after my current read (currently Nicholas Nickleby, so not a rapid page turner!) but I will, asap. -
JM daSilva: Don't worry. Take your time. Just enjoy. Thanks. -

JM daSilva: Now the fight to stay on the top 100 for a whole year has started. Root for me, guys.

Vincent will be tougher, but if I try, I'll have a 50% chance of doing it. If I don't, I have a 100% chance of failing. I'm sure you'll help me put it there among the 100 science fiction thrillers.

JM daSilva: Thanks a lot, everybody. Without you, I wouldn't have made it. My book Spagtionary hit number 7 in the Amazon Best Sellers list in the grammar category! Yay! This position will fluctuate, but the important thing is staying among the 100.
Click here to see the ranking

Number 35 in the best short stories

Number 47 in best stories by single author

It means I'm among the 100 best in three different categories, and I owe it all to fanstory and the wonderful people helping me edit the book.
I couldn't thank you more. I'm so happy. Thanks, everybody!
Sally Carter: Wow, that's brilliant. Sorry I haven't been following it; there's simply more here than I can keep tabs on. But congratulations! -

JM daSilva: Thanks a lot, Donaldww and Emjaihammond. You made me happier today. -
Adri7enne: Congratulations, Joe. Spagtionary's success is not a surprise to me. Good show, guy! -
JM daSilva: Thanks a lot, Adri7enne. You've supported me from the beginning. I really appreciate everything. -
JM daSilva: Wow, I forced the big guys to promote their books and lower their prices to get me out of the best sellers list. Yay! -

JM daSilva: Any song that shows father and son I love. My relationship with my son is the best. We really love each other and are friends, father and son, master and disciple. Well, incredible.

Sally Carter: Gulp... that is a beautiful song and an outstanding video. Here in the UK we are not so familiar with country music, but a member here, Warren Rodgers introduced me to Brad Paisley, in particular the song When I Get Where I'm Going. My, this man knows how to touch the heart. -
JM daSilva: No doubt about it. I like many different music styles and his style is one of them. -
Dean Kuch: Yeah, I love that song too, JM, as well as my son! :D -
JM daSilva: This song is good for Vincent too, because he is the ultimate adoptive father.

You see your kali here? -

JM daSilva: Thanks for the picture, Dean!!!

JM daSilva: My Spagtionary Second Edition in the foreseeable future. It'll be crazy to make people laugh while they learn.

JM daSilva: Funny cat and dog scenes

JM daSilva: If you're old, adapt, complaining won't make you younger.Great video. You'll laugh with them.
Sally Carter: That's wonderful! I love these ladies. Thanks for sharing this one. -
JM daSilva: Welcome. Great pleasure. -
Sally Carter: I just checked some of her other videos. She is one very funny woman. -
JM daSilva: Oh, yeah, I'm a fan. -
Sally Carter: Never heard of her in the UK, but her comedy travels well. I love the one about mammograms (though a female topic I guess), in which she speculates that the purpose of them is not so much to locate suspect lumps but to squash them out of existence. This might mean nothing if you are male, lol. Just ask any woman past mid age. -
JM daSilva: Oh, but I know about that. The women in my life told me about that. -
Curly Girly: Funny! And as we see people living longer, we can be sure to hear more from much older characters. But this illustrates the weird trend of 'cougars'. Which I can't get my head around. Men are so visual - what man wants a 'granny' unless he is a grandpa?
Hey, grandpa!... This video was cool, dude. -
JM daSilva: Yeah. Older men do want young girls, but young adult men like cougars because they are sexually more active than girls... and easier. lol. -
Dean Kuch: AhhhhhhhhhhHa ha! That video is brilliant! Where has she been all of my life?
    Oh, mercy... -
JM daSilva: I knew you'd love it. -

JM daSilva: I love all animals, but I have a thing for cats. They also like me for some reason. I think there is a certain body language and smell they appreciate. I don't know.
Or maybe it is because I have the traits of a cat. Well...
Scarbrems: I love cats, too. They know when you like them. -
JM daSilva: Yeah. I think animals can tell that. I never have problems with them, which is funny. My neighbor got an adult German Sheppard, but he didn't have the guts to pick him up. I went there, sat close to the dog, touched the cage, looked into his eyes, and in five minutes, he was licking my hand. Funny, huh? He was more scared than the other people there. -
    shelley kaye: meow
    -
    JM daSilva: lol -

JM daSilva: They raised a cub, reintroduced him to the jungle because he got too big. They went back many years later to visit him and people told them never to get near him because he was wild now and wouldn't remember them. Here is what happened.

adewpearl: That's a whole lot of love and a whole lot of trust :-) -
JM daSilva: Yeah. But I believe it, because when I see my cat that lives in the Amazon, he never forgets me. And you have seen him on this page, a jaguar. He is very old now, they say he won't make it through this year. -

JM daSilva: jaguar tastes the hallucinogenic effects of yage
Selina Stambi: Dean Kuch's tribute is well deserved, JM. I think he echoed the thoughts of many Fanstorians. I appreciate your suggestions and thoughtful reviews. Have a great weekend, my friend. :) -
JM daSilva: Thank you very much. Dean is a great guy, and I was so honored with his tribute that he left me speechless. Thank you. -

JM daSilva: Ken Atchity: The eBook as a Stepping Stone

JM daSilva: Writing is the only business in which being an entrepreneur is regarded as failure.
If a person decides to start their own company, they are regarded as courageous and admirable. When a writer decides to publish their own book, they are losers.
Writers are so brainwashed into the classic idea of finding a literary agent and a big publishing house that even when they are a best-seller in the indie market, they see themselves as losers.
    lindalcreel: JM,
I think the world of publishing is starting to recognize "Indie" authors. I want to share a story with you. When I first decided to write a novel, I sent a dozen or so query letters out. I got a pretty decent response. But one agent told me that while he liked the book, he wanted to see how well it did as an ebook, before he would represent it to a publisher. I wonder if many of the literary agents are adopting this same point of view. Big publishers are looking for a "sure thing". In the past, there was a stigma that if you self-published, you weren't worthy of a publishing contract. Since then, thanks largely to author's like Amanda Hocking, agents and publishers are starting to pay a little more attention. We all have different reasons for being published. Some, like me want to share our stories and have them appreciated, rather than make a million dollars. Indie authors are starting to make a lot of noise. Even the big six have gotten into digital books. I hope that our fellow writers, won't see themselves as losers, but rather artists. The publishing world is changing my friend and we are part of that change. God Bless and keep writing!!! -
JM daSilva: That's exactly what I'm striving to do, to change the business. Thanks a lot for your comment and experience. -
lindalcreel: JM, let me know how I can help. I have offered to promote the stories I like on my website. I'll talk to you more when everything is up and running. Really excited for you! I hope that I can be of help. I would also like to promote the editing that you offer. You have made a huge impact on me as an aspiring writer. We'll stay in touch. This could work out. By the way, I love what you did. Will let you know when I'm ready and we can talk more. Let me know where to respond for the critique on your book about Vincent. I have something ready . Just need to go. Just need to know where to send it. Also I would like to promote the books on SPAG. I can attest first hand, how great they are!. There are so many new writers like myself, who just need a little guidance. Thanks for all you do!! -
JM daSilva: Sorry I didn't respond before. I have to pay attention to my profile page more. I'll help in any way I can and I accept any help you can provide. We are all in this together. Writers are kin to me more than any other people in the human race and you are special. Thanks a lot for the offer. -

nor84: When I open "Profile Thoughts Forum", even though I haven't clicked on your video -- I get it. Must be a glitch, but distracting when I'm trying to read what others have written. -
William Walz: Yes, please disable this so that the viewer has a choice whether he wants to see it or not. -
JM daSilva: Disabled. Thanks for letting me know. -
William Walz: Thank you. Looks like a pretty good video. -
JM daSilva: Welcome. Thanks for telling me. -

JM daSilva: I'll translate this later. It's another pet jaguar.

JM daSilva: Well, I like jaguars, but I like tigers too.
Adopt a tiger. They are killing them.

Lise Deangelo: This is truly incredible footage, JM. The condition of the jaguars is beautiful to see. I really want to hug them LOL I love the butterfly on the crocodile's nose and the hyacinth macaw. The giant otters look scary. I must show this video to my daughter. She is majoring in zoology and other things at university. She on exchange to Mexico in July. She will like this :) -

Sally Carter: Wow, what amazing footage. Did you really have a jaguar?? Reading that, I thought the jaguar was going to be dinner. -
garrymc5: This is me begging. Just featured a sexy little poem of considerable length, called 'Recalling Simone', (I 'll have a better title sometime soon) so no one wants to review it for 30 cents. Just don't have the money or credit to pump it up. I'll keep reviewing, but appreciate any time you can find for feedback. -
JM daSilva: Oh, I never saw this, you should email me. Sorry. -
Pili Pubul: I enjoy so much this amazing videos. A true treasure . Thank you so much. WOW... -
    JM daSilva: Great pleasure. -
