twinklepoems: Wanted to enter the ABC poem, I know the deadline is today, but it is still today and I can't find it any where! :(
Can any one help me? I don't quite understand the new format.
Julia.: The day on Fanstory rolls over at midnight Eastern Standard Time (U.S.). So technically it's now Jan 13 here. -

twinklepoems: Has any one heard from Ine? Robina? She hasn't posted for a couple of weeks. Does any one know if she is OK?
    adewpearl: I sent you a PM. -

twinklepoems: WOOOHOOOO! GO BRONCOS! Sorry folks, I'm a native Coloradoan...gotta root for the home team!

twinklepoems: Hey Shelley Kaye, I took off out of Long Beach. I live in Torrance.
Nor84, Catalina has changed! No cattle! Cars are now allowed.. smart cards and mini coopers and the shops are pretty upscale! Beautiful views!

twinklepoems: Wow! I was gone all day to a place called Catalina Island, it was great fun and then I came back to all these Birthday Wishes and the cute graphics!Thank you all so much! It really adds to my page and my birthday! Thank you! Hugs and kisses!!
    shelley kaye: *waves*

where'd ya catch the boat? newport or dana point? (i'm next door to dana point)

    happy birthday!!
    -
nor84: When I went there (decades ago), I made two mistakes. The first was flying in. The airfield was on top of the island, and the wild bus ride to the beach was scary. There were cattle and (maybe) buffalo, and mirrors at the curves so the driver could see if any were in the road. The second mistake was riding horseback to the top of the island. Had to eat dinner standing up. At that time, there was a bird park, and there were glass-bottom boat rides around to the isthmus. Spent a couple of days in a rental, so had time to do all that. -

twinklepoems: It's my birthday but I don't know how to put up any of those cute anima things or glitter bombs...if someone does I would love some!!
adewpearl: Happy Birthday!!! :-) I don't know how to put up that cute stuff either, so I've used exclamation marks and a smile :-) -
Joy Graham: Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, happy Birthday dear twinklepoems........Happy Birthday to you! -

FanStory wrote to twinklepoems: Congratulations! Autumn Hides won the contest "ABC Poetry Contest"
    adewpearl: Congratulations! :-) -
Debra White: Congratulations! I'd not seen your poem before... it is beautiful - a well deserved win :) -
    Writingfundimension: Congratulations!
    -
Selina Stambi: Congratulations, Twinkle! :) -
    Cumbrianlass: Congrats! -
    Thatguypk: Congratulations Twinkle. -
    S A Bullen: Congratulations. :-) -
Malachai: Absolutely impeccably written poem. I loved it. You are one talented poet. "winter gathers fuel" just perfect congratulations Rebecca -
    IndianaIrish: Congrats -
Maureen's Pen: Congrats on your win my friend:) -

twinklepoems: I always love being reviewed by someone who has been on here only since this month, who has posted nothing, who has no fans and is following no one. Ghost FanStorians....ooooooo! Interesting how the reviews are never...ummm...substantial...constructive....Oh, well!
nor84: the 3-star review? That was from a Standard (nonpaying) "member" and that's why I block them. To block standards, look under advanced options when you post, and you can block reviews by nonwriters. Be sure to recheck with the next posting, because it can change back to the default, which is to allow standard members to review your work. -
twinklepoems: Thanks nor82. How do you know if a member is Standard or just when you check the profile? Thanks so much for that tip! -
nor84: It shows on their profile. Most of ours say "Premier" but a standard member just has "standard." Actually, you were lucky. Often they leave 1 star reviews. -
Sally Carter: I've said this many times before, to the point now of boring even myself, but sometimes the comments by standard members are more truthful than those of premier members, who've been sucked into the 5 star culture, or who don't want to hurt friends. I'm not saying this is the case here (who knows?) but I think we should dismiss clearly rubbish comments with rueful acceptance and be prepared to consider the articulate ones as dispassionately as we can. Even in major newspapers, an album or show which a producer clearly thought was worth banking money on, will get slated by a reviewer and given one star. In fact I saw such a one star review in a magazine this morning. -
Sarkems: Quite right, Sally. And we mustn't forget that some of our best reviewers have said they will be going to standard membership only, soon, so we might have to suck it up and let 'em in, good and bad. -
Sally Carter: Haha, yes, good point Ems! -

My congrats for tying for second place in the Day at the Circus prompt contest. -
Malachai: I actually love to get low reviews they challenge me to write better and I agree new people don't hold back they say whether it is a talented good poem or a boring untalented one. I just love honest feedback. I do not howevr like to feel like another pet is one upping me because they may have just one a contest and their ego is way to big. I hope to always remain humble here and grow as a writer and tell the truth about the poems I review in a kind considerate way. I was knew and blocked by a top ranked author because she totally misinterpretted my feedback. Anyway it is a shame cause she is an incredible poet and now I can't see her work or tr to recocile her misperceptions of my feedback. It sure can get tough on here at times but I am here for a while. Love you all even the author who blocked me. -
Malachai: and p.s. my contacts are blurry and I sure do wish comments here had a spell check. LOL I just re-read my comment and there were quite a few mis-spells after I put artifiial tears in my eyes. OOOOOOPPPPPPS!!!!!!! -

twinklepoems: I miss squid, if anyone knows him/her tell them Twinks says "Hi".
Lovinia: Hi Twinks ... I don't know squid ... I am having squid sushi on Friday..... you can join me. :))) To be serious, I will say "Hi" before I eat it though. -
Treischel: Haven't seen Squid since February. Last I heard, he was in the hospital with sever Liver disease. -
twinklepoems: Lovi, haven't had squid...had his uncle calamari though!

Treischel, Thanks for the information. I am sorry to hear that! -
sandramitchell: Hi Twinklepoems, just reading through your notes, I don't know if you know it now, but Squid died some months ago. I really liked him too, we had lots of early morning chats. -
dejohnsrld (Debbie): Congrats on placing in the tanka contest~Debbie -

twinklepoems: Thanks Shelley Kaye for sponsoring the 6 word story contest and thanks to all who voted for me!
    Taffspride: Congratulations, well deserved win.
    -
    twinklepoems: Thanks Ann! -
Dean Kuch: winner animation photo: POTD winner's gif Potd-Animation-4.gif Congrats to you for your winning entry in the six word story contest. You entry was hilarious! -
twinklepoems: Just now saw this! Thanks so much Dean!
    -

twinklepoems: Just want to give a shout-out to all the my fellow poets in the "Help define senryu contest. It was an honor to be with all of you and to read your work. Also a shout-out to Sue for sponsoring such a great contest!

twinklepoems: Thanks everyone who voted for me in the Naani contest. Tuesday would have been my Mother's 93rd birthday and this is my second year with out her. What a fitting way for me to be able to honor and remember her.
    Lovinia: Hi Twinks

I just read your beautiful naani. A well deserved win. My deepest sympathies for your loss. Congratulations. So nice to meet you today. Hugs - Lovi xoxo -

twinklepoems: Hi, I am doing my own informal poll. If you review someone's work would your rather they send you a thank you or review your work? (If you could only pick one)
DIS-illusioned: If I gave them 4 stars, or less, a simple 'Thank you' would suffice (I don't want them reviewing my work--LOL!).
But, if I gave them a 5 or 6, then they better tickle me good with fluff reviews and ONLY 6-star ratings. LOL!
    :) -
nor84: If they feel I had a lot to offer them, I'd appreciate a thumb vote, or I'd like a review. "Thanks" by itself doesn't mean much. Could be "Thanks a bunch" or "Thanks, you jerk." The reviewer can't tell what's meant. Some people, though, don't review prose, so from them "Thanks" is OK by me.
    -
    twinklepoems: Thanks! heehee -
TDLRasmar: I always like knowing what people think about the things I write, so I would rather have a review. It makes no difference if the review is praising or critical, in fact, I appreciate the critical ones more than the fluffy ones. I always feel that if someone doesn't like something then I need to take a hard look at it because if just one person doesn't like it and you project that into a larger population it could be hundreds, or even more. I try not to take things personally and I honestly haven't found anyone that was intentionally cruel. People here really want to help. -

twinklepoems: Hi I was wondering if anyone can contribute to Missy's book or how to contribute or? It is a lovely tribute. Twinkle
shelley kaye: it's a multi-author book, so anyone can add a chapter - all you have to do is go to one of the chapters already in the book and click on "add chapter"

    :)

    -

twinklepoems: I recently received this review (no name revealed on this post) You are bound to get many hight ratings if you pay in dollars rather than cents and if you have a large fan base.Unexplainable is better rendered as inexplicable.

So, someone please tell me how this review in any way provides helpful and or constructive criticism or makes any sense?
redrider6612: It doesn't, but all you can do about it is ask for clarification. If they don't clarify, all you can do is shrug and go on with life. There's always the mute option. -
twinklepoems: You are right redrider but sometimes... -
Keeper Tony: Hmmmm...there certainly does seem to be a very small minority of reviewers whom could do with a lesson or two in how to offer respect.

Just yesterday i had a writer on here ask me to stop promoting my story as he intended retaining the number one position until his base certificate expired. What a cheek!! I was polite and diplomatic in my response of course. -

twinklepoems: Dis...it's in the mail! ;)
    shelley kaye:

    -
LateBloomer: Hi Shelly, Is this your secret hiding spot? -

twinklepoems: Ok, thank you!
    DIS-illusioned: Oh, you're welcome!
But if you insist, you can buy me a Mercedes--2015 model.
    :) -
    shelley kaye: umm.... you're welcome?

    what'd i do?

    -

twinklepoems: so writing on my profile is writing in the forum? ( I wondered how that worked.) Ok, well, that is interesting. Not arguing with you redrider just thinking it out in my own head.
redrider6612: Yes, go to "Profile" at the right hand end of the list across the top and you will find the forums. "Profile Thoughts" is one of the sections where the most recent 20 or so profile comments are displayed. -
Sally Carter: Haha, I wondered what all the odd comments were. Now I realise it's half a conversation. -

twinklepoems: Well, if no one says anything then how does any one learn how to be a better, reviewer or poet or author? I thought learning was one of the main reasons for this sight?
redrider6612: You can ask for clarification but you're not allowed to defend your work. You're not allowed to call out a specific reviewer in the forums. -

twinklepoems: Not sure why "me of all people" redrider. I have only been on here a few months. Voicing my opinion wasn't nice? I neither swore or used obscenitites or called names.
redrider6612: "I love newbies "this is very well done" but I am giving you a 3."--Not nice -
twinklepoems: Then you must not have read the rest. I gave him a three based on HIS own criteria of where haiku's and I am extrapolating to 5-7-5. He is the one who said they never rate above a 3. -
redrider6612: We aren't supposed to rate the reviewer--that is defending our work and we're not allowed to do that. Sorry, I thought you knew that. -
enigmaring: read my poem in this abab poetry contest guys, its called brittle life of energy, its about speaking your mind and a new fixation of words.its about struggle through regression. -

twinklepoems: Dear Fanstorians, This is my four month anniversay on the site. When I count my blessings this site is one of them. The site and Fanstorians have given me a chance to do some healing through writing, the feed back has added to myself esteen, yes, I have something to say and I can use my words to say it and it has given me an opportunity to "learn my craft" as they say, through the reviews and the classes. Thank you all, I appreciate you!

twinklepoems: First, I want to thank everyone who reviewed me and gave me constructive criticism for improvement and you were the majority and much appreciated.

Now my grrrr, people who don't read the quantifiers to writing prompts before you review the work, not reading up on the structure of the poetic form before reviewing (sometimes there is more than one way to skin a cat and write a poem) and not liking a particular word or phrase because you don't understand. (your free to dislike it but if you don't understand it how about a dictionary.) I probably shouldn't rant on here....it will ruin my image (if I have one). Just remember it is October and the werewolfs are out!
rosehill (Wendy): I also had a reviewer tell me that she would have given me more stars but that she didn't know some of the words I'd used. Now I, don't know about you, but I would have to be raked over hot coals before I would admit, on a writing site, that any word was beyond my capability of looking up in a dictionary, thesaurus or just plain old Google it for heavens sake! I thanked her for her revue and suggested she might be more comfortable reading TammyGail's work. ;o -

twinklepoems: Just wondering, is it fanstory practice to be reviewed and then be told by the reviewer that I should take their class and buy their book! Lol, I had to laugh!
    Sally Carter: !!!!!!! -
nor84: I don't think so, especially the buying their book part. I don't see anything wrong with suggesting someone take one of the classes. -
DIS-illusioned: The reason is, they 'like to eat' ... I don't.
    :) -
jjstar: HaHa..too funny! No advertising allowed! -
Peter@Poole: Who was it? PM me, and I'll pray not to be disillusioned. -

twinklepoems: Seems like a lot of people in the contests have started making their entry and then removing it from view? As a newbie I am just curious as to what that is about?
Lady & Louis: Perhaps they've had edits to do and didn't want more people seeing it till they'd fixed it? I've seen it before, that's the only guess I can make. -
adewpearl: Lots of people will enter the contest and have little more than a title finished when they press enter, but the poem is still in preview mode. Therefore, the title appears in the contest list, but the poem doesn't appear yet until they release the post out of preview mode. I do this all the time. -

twinklepoems: Is there ever a class on how to write query letters and if not does anyone have a suggestion on good books or sites? Thank you!

twinklepoems: today's thought from twinkle- does any one beside me think that the same 30 people vote over and over again on the writers prompt contests? for no particular reason I started counting up votes on the site prompts and it almost always adds up to around 30.
MacNizzle: Probably the same 30 that actually enter them. -
twinklepoems: lol, usually only 19 spots...11 people have a friend who vote too? :) -
MacNizzle: I'll buy that. I think some people are better at making the voting booths a routine. I always forget. -
Lady & Louis: LOL could be. I don't vote, I haven't time or inclination to read contest entries. I read little enough in my inbox these days. -

twinklepoems: I guess I am still a newbie with sooo much to look forward too! :)
DIS-illusioned: Stay armored, and good luck. :) -
nancyjam: Hi T. got your message. Glad you had a good experience at SCBWI. I've had just one published children's book. "Mama Will Be Home Soon" which is out of print but still available on Amazon or at your local library. Thanks for asking. Nancy -

twinklepoems: Revenge review? Are those the ones where they tell you your writing is great and then give you a 3 or they just score you low with no explanation?
William Walz: No, a revenge review is one in which you have reviewed a work, found it wanting it several areas, given it a justifiable low rating, and then the author goes into your portfolio, picks something at random, tears it apart for no good reason other than spite. That's a revenge review. -

twinklepoems: Thank you for your comments. It's interesting because some Fanstonians' :) have a been on awhile and haven't posted while others post quite regularly.

twinklepoems: So, how long do you have to be on here before your not considered a newbie?
DIS-illusioned: How much of the site has the member learned so far? It is not the length of stay that matters, but the quality of the experience so far. -
nor84: When you can get around to the various forums, review on Up Next, garner some fans and post several pieces of whatever you write. If you joined in the last six months, to many of us, you're still a new member. I joined in 2006. All things are relative. -
William Walz: You become an established veteran after you've received your first revenge review. -
Grammies: Had that recently so that makes me "not newbie". Thanks very much WW . -
William Walz: Grammies, you have survived your trial by fire and now walk with the Fanstory elite. Now, get cracking on a revenge review of your own! -

twinklepoems: Testing, testing...is anyone out there? Hello, hello!
DIS-illusioned: ...*Not even one cricket chirps*
    :) -
Lady & Louis: Well, I am, but I'm pretending to do some work ... :P -
twinklepoems: whew! For a moment I thought I was on here all alone!! Ok, carry on. :) -
Julia.: I'm here, but I'm trying to get some writing done, not playing on the Internet. -
    nor84: I'm here too. -

twinklepoems: Ok, thanks the reviewer sent it to me.

twinklepoems: Hi, Can someone tell me what the form of a triolet is? A reviewer is telling me that each line has to have the same number of syllables. I didn't see that on any of the directions, nor does it say that on the triolet description of Poetry Dances. I am interested in learning and attempting correct forms of poetry so, I'd appreciate if one could direct me to a written description. Thanks, Twinkle

twinklepoems: Going to my first Bookwriter's Conference today! I have had so much fun on Fanstory that I am curious to see what else is out there!!
Lady & Louis: Cool! Have fun! -
nancyjam: Is that the SCBWI conference in LA? Have a great time. -
twinklepoems: Hi, Yes Nancy the SCBWI. They have good speakers, lots of people, I am bushed!
    -
nancyjam: pace yourself. You still have a couple days to go.
    Have fun though. -

twinklepoems: I want to give a big shout out and thanks to donaldww for letting me know about anaphoric verse. Based on feedback it would appear that many of us were uninformed about this form of poetry. Thanks so much Donald for enhancing our education!
Sally Carter: So what is it??
    -
Sally Carter: Ignore - I just found out!
    :~) -
God's Writer: There is a window on your profile page that will link you to different styles of poetry and in nothing else works Google it. They are good at providing this information. -

twinklepoems: Ok, guess it is one of those days. Reviewed for NOT writing the work the reviewer thought I should write. I wrote a certain form of poem and they thought I should write a different style of poem. For some silly reason I thought form and subject were writers choice. I am soooo naive!
donaldww: Live and learn. :) -
twinklepoems: Sure donaldww, but couldn't they just send me a message as to what style to use instead of me having to guess through all 1500 or so poets on here??Lol -
another jim: While you're at it, change your screen name, will ya?

    ;-D -
    twinklepoems: sure, what's your preference? :) -

twinklepoems: Hi, I am curious what people use for syllable counts. I have been using the online syllable
counters but they appear to be inaccurate. Is Ye Ole Dictionary the best choice?
nor84: There's even a difference between dictionaries, unfortunately. I learned to count syllables in school, but when I get stuck, I check the dictionary. I'm right half the time that way. A poet should answer, not this prose writer. -
    Lady & Louis: I use my fingers ... ;) -
twinklepoems: Thanks, most of the time I am ok, but occasionally there is strange syllabication. -
donaldww: I believe you mean syllabification. -
donaldww: Oops. I see that syllabication exists in Merriam Webster and now means the same thing. Sorry. -

twinklepoems: Hi, Has any one ever been to the Society of Children's Bookwriter's conferences? If so how are they. There is one coming to Los Angeles the first weekend of August. Is it a good one to go to? Thanks, twinklepoems
nancyjam: I've attended many of the Los Angeles SCBWI conferences and I would definitely recommend going. Very inspiiring. Great speakers, editors, writers, agents all sharing their knowledge about children's publishing.
You will meet a lot of writers both new and experienced and make new friends . If you check out SCBWI.com you can find out more about this year's conference and who the faculty will be. Hope you go. It's a great experience. Nancy -
twinklepoems: Thanks so much for the recommendation Nancy! -

twinklepoems: Today is my one month anniversary on FanStory.
I have written more and gotten more feedback in one month than in a lifetime of writing! Despite the warnings (Dis-illusioned and shelley :) ) so far so good.(Although I notice I no longer rush to my facebook but to my fanstory page. Thank to all of you who have reviewed me and voted for me! Looking forward to more!
Cobalt Blue: Your poetry has been a very positive contribution here. I know I have read several that I thought were quite good. -
Cobalt Blue: and I mean that in a much stronger way than "good" is usually used here. -
twinklepoems: Thank you Cobalt Blue! -

twinklepoems: Hi, For my next question...what does the leaping frog on my ranking mean? I looked through the FAQ's and found no leaping frogs? Am I now a polliwog in the Lily Pad pond?
Lady & Louis: It's just for poets/writers above a certain place in the rankings - can't recall where. Top 50 maybe? It's like the animals you see for the top ten - lions, bears and so on. :) -
twinklepoems: Thank you for the response! -
Lady & Louis: Ya welcome! -
carolcalkins: Hi, Thank You for using my surfing photo for your great poem. I live near Surf City Huntington Bch, CA. The US Open will start on the 28th and I will have more photos. But it seems not everyone on fanart likes them, they like birds, bees, bugs!!
Thank You very much.... Carol -
twinklepoems: Hi, Sorry to not have responded. I am new on the sight and just saw you post today! I thought it was a great picture and went so well with my poem! Good luck at the open! I live in Torrance so I'll stop by if I get down there. -
God's Writer: Y3es it is the most accurate also the website"Haiku with teeth" is the best online syllaqble counter around and you can type in whole phrases. Try it I think you'll like it. -

twinklepoems: Hello out there in FanStory Land! Today I am curious about how the price is set to enter a contest. It seems the average cost is $5.00 and then I see one for $25.00 to enter. Is this to keep out the riffy or the raffy. or only the rich may enter? Just curious because it seems like a wide discrepancy!
--Turtle.: There is an option for contests that can be generated by members who want to sponsor a contest. When you create your own contest, you get to select lots of different options. One of those options is how much the entry fee is.

Some people like high price entry contests. -
adewpearl: Turtle is right - the member sponsoring the contest decides the price. Most of the time I've seen higher prices it was because the sponsor wanted to insure only serious writers would enter. Lots of people enter contests where the form is new to them and they just take a stab at it. It's a good chance to learn new things. But sometimes a sponsor has a contest for a more complicated form where he or she just wants experienced, expert writers to enter, a contest for heavy-hitters. The theory is that someone won't enter a contest on a lark if it risks too much money. -
twinklepoems: Thank you both for your feedback. Always something new to learn! -
shelley kaye: or sometimes contests may require a little research as well....

    -

twinklepoems: Hello, wondering, how do you get fans? solicit, beg, pay or wait to be discovered? Also, it sorta seems like the people who vote in contests are not necessarily the ones who review your work. Is this a correct perspective? Curiouser and curiouser!
Lady & Louis: Yes to the second question - you have no way of knowing who votes for you in a contest. To the first question, absolutely no soliciting, begging or paying. Post and promote your work, review other people, and yes, wait for people who feel like being your fans. Some will reciprocate if you fan them, but don't go becoming someone's fan in the hope or expectation they'll reciprocate. Think what it feels like to be badgered to become someone's fan - very annoying (I've had it happen). Just be patient. -
twinklepoems: Thanks Lady&Louis, Just trying to figure out the ins and outs! -
    Lady & Louis: No worries! :) -

twinklepoems: Thank you to all who are reviewing me. I am sweating out in Kansas for a week for a family reunion (more grist for the mill as they say!) and don't always have computer access! Be back next week.
Twinkle

twinklepoems: Hi, I have a couple of questions but I am not sure how to ask them.Lol. Can you only enter your work in one contest or can you enter the same work in different contests? Is promoting best done when you have entered a work or when you want feedback or both? Does promoting help your work in a contest in the sense of getting more people to read the pieces in a contest? Finally, this contest that says "poem of the month" yet the poems are dated as far back as 2011and none of them are for the month of June...wondering how that works? Thanks to one and all who answer me!
Twinks
redrider6612: You can only enter one contest per item.

I never post anything without at least a certificate and a few MCPs.

Promoting doesn't really improve your chances of winning the contest, but it does get you more reviews. I always promote contest entries.

The poem of the month contest is for poems posted in that month. There shouldn't be any entries from last year.

Have you found the forums? If you go to "Profile" at the right hand end of the list across the top, you'll find "Forums". There's usually someone hanging around who will answer questions. -
twinklepoems: Thank you rerider for the info. If you rewrite can you resubmit and what is MCP's? -
nor84: You can "re-promote" an old work that's been posted, but you cannot repost it as new. It isn't really worth re-promoting, because your fans aren't notified and you don't get the usual couple of free reviews.

MCPS are Member Cent Pumps. You get them when reviewing, the same way you "earn" member money to pay for those certificates you put on your work to post it. -
Lady & Louis: If it's the sort of site contest where it's judged by a committee, promotion makes no difference; apart from anything else, the certificates would probably have expired by the time the works are being judged. With member-vote contests, they may have expired (depending how close to the deadline you post) anyway, so it's not really relevant there, either. Only difference is like Red said, that if you promote, you'll get more reviews, same as with non-contest pieces. People who vote may have seen and reviewed your work, or not, but that's about all. -

twinklepoems: all right shelley, stop licking you lips my way...surely there is more "new meat"! I am old meat since I've been a week and 2 days now! Thank you DIS. -
Carole Rosa: Twinklepoems, Congratulations for your win on Kaleidoscope. Mine was one of your votes. Great piece. Carole -

twinklepoems: I wonder if people read my posts cause no one seems to read my Facebook! lol Anyway, have some questions if anyone reads this, I gave some one a lower review than they would like and they asked me to rereview after they made changes. I don't know how to go back and find the reviews I made vs. the reviews people have made to me. Secondly, if I enter a contest and what to reply to reviews people have left me how do I know if the name of the poster is showing or not (like if I enter a blind contest...do I need to wait until the contest is over to respond to the reviewers?)
Ok, DIS, still happy I found the site. Haven't written this much in years!
nor84: Question: I gave someone a lower review than they would like and they asked me to rereview after they made changes. I don't know how to go back and find the reviews I made vs. the reviews people have made to me.

Answer: You don't have to go back and review again. That's up to you. If you decide to do it, look at the top of this screen, upper left, "MY MENU." If you pull down, you'll see various options, one of which will be the reviews you gave, the replies you received, and the reviews you received. You may have to look carefully, but it's there. Read the reviews you gave, and then click on title of the one in question. That will let you review again, and your review will be updated.

Question: Secondly, if I enter a contest and want to reply to reviews people have left me how do I know if the name of the poster is showing or not (like if I enter a blind contest...do I need to wait until the contest is over to respond to the reviewers?)

Answer: You can respond to reviews as they appear in your inbox, just don't sign your name or acknowledge you realize who sent it. You don't have to wait for the contest to end, but you mustn't mention that you are in a contest or ask for a vote.

twinklepoems: Twinkle reporting here. Day 3 and I am still enthused. Having this site is so much better than sitting in a room alone, writing, with no feedback (at least for me!) I am learning soooo much and enjoying writing sooo much more!
    DIS-illusioned: Good for you, twinkle! :) -

bossmyers: I am curious as to how you got so many people to read your poetry so quickly. I have been on the site for months and it seems almost impossible to get poems read without reading and using money to get them to read.... -
DIS-illusioned: "How is it I am just now finding this site" you asked.
Well, you've been lucky before now. LOL
    :) -
