LJ-HBIC: I believe the only way you can ever be your true self, or true to yourself, is being able to express your inner thoughts. They don't have to always be serious or deep, but they will always be meaningful. And yet, they don't always have to be shared with others. Too many times in life we are afraid of expressing what we are feeling or thinking. It may take years to realize the damage this does, if ever. Those that are brave enough to take a deep breath, look inside and write, are truly blessed. It's a release of emotion and a letting go that will help us not only accept ourselves, but be more understanding and forgiving of friends, family, and the relationships we form throughout our lives. And it's fun. It doesn't always have to be soul-baring. Sometimes you just want to write - and about everyday things. Things that make you laugh. Things that you want other people to laugh at. Let's face it, if we can't laugh at ourselves (okay, and at others) life would be damn dreary! |
