DARRYL ASHTON: Just for the record: I am also a published poet. And I do stand-up comedy. And the Queen is certainly a very remarkable lady. It really was an honour to meet her.


DARRYL ASHTON: Tomorrow is the day I travel to London, I've been invited to Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen of England. Her majesty wants to meet the comedy poet who who won a world wide Elvis Presley poem competition! I also sent the Queen a selection of my poems - and she was so surprised. They loved my poem, Christmas Crackers - which I have just posted here. I will be reading this for the Queen - and her guests. Her majesty also bought my book!!!! Now how many budding poets can get an invite to see - and read for royalty???? Especially, the Queen of England!!!! I meet the Queen on the Tuesday. What an honour!!!! Thank you all. DARRYL ASHTON: WOW! WOW! and WOW again! I have just received a phone call from the U.S. White House. They've asked me if I'll write them a poem about their U.S. budget crises? I'm only too please to oblige them. Now how many poets on here can say that???? The White House asking me to write them a poem???? WOW!!!!!!

DARRYL ASHTON: The two trophy's on the left are what I won when I received first prize in a world wide poem competition about Elvis Presley. They were presented to me by Graceland. Hope you like them. I do feel very honoured. I'm the only poet in the world to achieve such an honour! It sure puts any Fanstory Trophy in the shade!

DARRYL ASHTON: GREAT NEWS:

I am travelling to Graceland next Monday to actually read my 'prize-winning' Elvis Presley poems which (WON) me first prize in a poetry competition celebrating the life of Elvis Presley.

I'm actually reading my poems to an invited audience which is being filmed for U.S. TV! Now to me - that really is one "BIG HONOUR"!

I also won a fabulous Bronze statue of Elvis Presley and a Trophy. But my biggest surprise was when I received the "INVITE" to actually go to Graceland! And at their expense!

It is part of a world-wide event to commemorate the 35th anniversary of his death. This has never been done before - especially by someone from the UK!

However, when I informed my local newspaper - of this incredible achievement they just didn't want to know! Shame on them! However, I did receive a letter from the Queen - who actually "CONGRATULATED" me!

I will be taking copies of my new book - which is highlighted on my wall.

A man buys a lie detector robot that slaps people who lie. He decides to test it at dinner.

Dad: Son, where were you today during school hours?
Son: At school. (Robot slaps Son)
Son: OK, I went to the movies.

Son: Toy Story. (Robot slaps son again)
Son: OK, it was Day with a Porn Star.
Dad: What? When I was your age I didn't even know what porn was! (Robot slaps Dad)
