Serene Insights: If my feel becomes a paintbrush, and my tears become the paint, then why speak words of feelings that many take so quaint? So my life is but a paintbrush that paints canvases of me. It covers up the disarray in a bittersweet symphony. The colors repel the raindrops while erasing all the shame. It is this brush that paints the woman whoâ??s overcoming all the pain. |

Serene Insights: Hey there all, I am writing with a quick idea! My aunt volunteers at a homeless shelter and this place has not one thing on the walls:( Well, I have been painting spiritually driven compositions that I will be donating so that these families can have original reminders of the beauty in faith! If anyone else would like to donate a piece, poem, book etc. Please let me know and I can set you up with the address! FYI! All works must be of Cristian nature as this is the motivation of the shelter! Thanks All! Have a creative day:) |

Serene Insights: Being that I am a mother of 2 children who have Autism. I tend to discern spectrum type characteristics in "problematic" children. Last week, a neighbor girlâ?¦let's call her Violet knocked on my door with a somber composure, a puzzled look on her face and not a word to say. As I was already aware of her home environment, I decided to change her concentration. I invited Violet in, offered her a bite to eat and reminded her of the previous summer when she spent hours watching me paint. I explained to her that I noticed and appreciated how attentively she watched me almost as though she felt the passion behind each brush stroke. Don't stop reading here comes the good part... Violet looked up with a dazzling sparkle in her eye and a smile on her face and said â??I love your artâ?¦I wish I could do that stuffâ?? WELL, anyone who knows me probably already knows the end of the story, BUT it's the details that make the difference so here it goes. I said â??paint, draw, or write? Huh? What will it be Violet". With yet another puzzled look on her face and a voice bursting with excitement she said "YOUâ??RE GONNA TEACH ME HOW TO PAINT?" As I grabbed out a canvas, some watercolor supplies, a sponge or two, a few paintbrushes, some paints, chalk and a few pastels, she quietly sat with a hopeful grin on your face. I handed her the supplies and told her the basics. Then I went back over to my ironing board (ha-ha yes I paint on my ironing board) and painted quietly. After about an hour she walked over and said here you goâ?¦you can have this. Please see the picture of her drawing that is now my profile pictureâ?¦needless to say it was inspiring to watch her go home with an armful of supplies that my children donated to her. |

And that was a great writing prompt you arranged too. Even if I didn't win (LOL)! I was planning to donate any winnings to my local autism society but, failing winning, I've made a small donation anyway. - | ||
