themanicdude: Now I am broke, so I'm going to start reviewing ALOT.
cinamonsunrise: I would like to read your work but am unable to access through accomplishments section. Are you posting? cinamonsunrise -

themanicdude: good night fan story - I can hear 'Supernatural' and 'Dexter' calling to me
sasil: Debra just can't keep a man, can she? LOL
Love Dexter--love the writers of the show even more... -

themanicdude: Wow gaining new fans is always exciting, so much to catch up on, I might have to put my new novels down for a week or two. lol

themanicdude: So I'm crawling back out the woodwork, not making an overwhelming return. just here, in the dark, again, same old, same old.
DIS-illusioned: Ain't nothing new under the sun. Take it as it comes and try to make the best. :-p
    :) -
kra-z-ka-z: I've read some of your stuff. Kinda reminds me...well...of me! Go team go. Personally I don't do the anti-depressants, or the anti-psychotics. They interfere with my "friends" Now if I can just get 'em to do the dishes... -

themanicdude: I am thinking of quitting fanstory

DIS-illusioned: Hmm! That will entail a lengthy amount of thought.:) -
    Donya Quijote: Why? -
purrfect tale: You can't do that! How will I know what happens to the boy from the time keeper family? -

themanicdude: woops
shelley kaye: my daughter says that when she farts....

    -

themanicdude: Is it safe for me to come out from under my rock yet?
    Cumbrianlass: Er...hang on.

    Yep. All clear! -
    shelley kaye: no. it's monday....

    -
    Lylise: Are we metal? -
purrfect tale: Heck, yeah! Frolicking has missed you!
    -
    fairy77: Hi loved your poem ugly.It was one of your best.Keep smiling.beth fairy77. -

SLT66: could you check mine out? I would really appreciate it. -
    Joy Graham: What about me?
    -
chrissy8 : You would have to start at the beginning (third page) of my portfolio to see the "good" stuff. There's a few you'd like, not so much the new stuff :) Thanks! -
Lylise: I will be checking yours. Mine is at your service but not required. You will be falling into a candy-store mind. Enter at your own risk. Or dive in as I'm thinking this is your style. -
    Word Weaver: *reads ninth name*

word weaver??? hmmmm...who might that be..??? seems like danger zone to me.. -
LadyCosgrove: Always a pleasure when you drop by. :o) -
Mary.Clark51: I have not heard from you in a while, I know I was gone, had to have the old ticker worked on, wouls shure like to hear from you. Mary -

Melspoems: You're welcome to check out mine too. -
    samriddle: Anytime Lee :) -
Word Weaver: *places profile on doorstep, rings bell, and runs away* -
LadyCosgrove: 's profile comes hurtling through the window and lands in Manicdude's lap -

themanicdude: Just noticed how much I have been getting carried away with writing this week. Think it's time I entered a competition....

themanicdude: BOOIINNGG - "Time for bed" said Zebberdy
"Get lost Zebberdy, I'm on fanstory"
Lady & Louis: Oh, Zebedee brings back some memories! :) -

themanicdude: wow, I've not been here in a while. lol
Bicpen: well we`re still here...trapped as always...! -

themanicdude: just scrapped a poem I was writing, thought it was awful....
sasil: Sometimes I take my "scraps" and piece 'em together--interesting results, sometimes. -
sasil: I just had to write a poem about the full moon I saw last week as I drove to the grocery store. It got a little epic, but...it's on my profile. -

themanicdude: I'm in a real bitchy mood today

themanicdude: I would like to thank everyone on fanstory for their support during my November blues. I don't feel alone so much when I write :)
sasil: For me it's January, February and March...Zzzzzz....wish I could hibernate. Time to pop some B-12 and vitamin C! -

themanicdude: Is feeling another dizzy spell coming on, at least I'm not shopping this time, time to call the doctor I think
Bicpen: It` probably all that poetic verse pulsing through your brain... -
sasil: Get well soon, Lee. -
Word Weaver: Hey Lee! I called the doctor for you just in case you might get this spell again (hope not). Well, he said that you seem to have the symptoms of Poet Syndrome. It affects all writers at different stages of their career and is actually very common especially among Fanstorians. He prescribed three rhyming pills daily and a dose or two of meterlynol. -
Mary.Clark51: So how are those dizzy spells? I tell you to go have a pint but that might mess with your meds.M -
    fairy77: Hope you feel better.Love your poetry.I also have bi-polar.beth fairy. -

themanicdude: A dying granny tells her granddaughter, "I want to leave you my farm. That includes the villa, the tractor and other equipment, the farmhouse and $22,398,750.78 in cash." The granddaughter, about to be rich, says, "oh my granny, you are so generous. I didn't even know you had a farm. Where is it?" With her last breath, her granny whispered, "Facebook..."
    shelley kaye: LOL!
    -
sasil: That's cute, Lee. Thanks for the laugh, friend. -
LadyCosgrove: Hi Lee, where you been - we missed you :o)
    'Facebook' - Brilliant! lol -
    R. J. Stewart: Took me a second to get the joke, but LOL! -
nlisah: viewed your page and just reaching out saying hello -
pickelhead: Humor in poetry is the best medicine for anyone. -
Sleepy Dreamer: Hi Lee, I'm new around here and happened to stumble on this. It cracked me up, because it reminds me of my sister who is completely obsessed with farmville. Made my day
    ! -

themanicdude: I'm off to bed, way too much internet surfing and I wanted to be asleep 8 hours ago. lol

night all

themanicdude: This status is so good you'll have to read it twice.
This status is so good you'll have to read it twice.
    shelley kaye: :-P -
Justin Chopin : Good joke Lee. -
    fairy77: where are you Lee?beth fairy77. -

themanicdude: Ok, I thankyou all for your feedback, it means alot, and I struggle in replying to you all. I literally can only reply to so many at one time, and I know that some of my poetry is only hunted by $ hunters, whose comments can b very demotivating.

Before you ask, yes I am taking my medication, and my next lot of meds is due about now. lol

Well back to the frying pan of ideas for me, let's see what I'll cook up next.

Lee X
Lady & Louis: Lee, yes, I can imagine how many reviews you've got piled up - but man, if you don't promote that high you'll fix those problems: not so many reviews, fewer drive-bys (or fluff fives) and less time needed to get your own FS pennies together! :) -

themanicdude: Ok, I have been posting alot recently, just trying to make u for an absence of time.

For those of you who are scared of my dark thoughts, I do not intend on suicide. Death is not the answer, just comforting to think of.

I may have just got married, yet I still haveao of the same feelings and dark thoughts. I'm still posting and aim to be for some time to come.
LadyCosgrove: You keep posting and I'l keep reading. :o)
    -
Ankh: Get the dark out for us to read mate. -
Xylok: Glad to hear it, figured, rock your speakers and I hear ya.. Reminds me of a Socrates quote, which applies I suppose if one wants to replace God with Fate ot Life or Time or anything that might have an upper hand on man universally speaking...only God knows if death is good or bad...looking forward to whatever u come up with, and consider mine reviews that don't need replies. I had over five hundred piled up once so I hears ya. Just keep writing please! -
Xylok: Ps your favorite quote over there is FANTASTIC! -
redchrysalis: Hi themanicdude! I'm a newbie, and with you on the anti d's, dark thoughts and disability. Also from the UK. Hope you find happiness in your marriage- my first 2 poems are attempting to escape from the abuse of mine. Check it out if you wish, I will be-fan you!! redchrysalis -

themanicdude: Time for some more tranlation fun live from italy.

What is 'Analcolica' in English, translated from Italian

Oh yeah, um it's not your first guess. lol
    LadyCosgrove: Non alcoholic drink -
another jim: No, thanks. I hear they're bad for your health... -
sasil: Non alcoholic drinks are like taking a shower with your socks on (my opinion, of course). -
LadyCosgrove: Is that the right answer? -
LadyCosgrove: Your 'Italian Lights' just cracked me up! That's that brilliant humour I was talking about. Laughed 'til I cried! -
Healing: I had one once but the wheel fell of it (Analcolica) -

themanicdude: I'm in Venice and it's awesome. Ok, here's a challenge translate the following, 'Non Parlo Italino', (Here's a hint - the third word is Italian). Depending on feedback I get I might just create another competition for fun.
another jim: I have no idea. I do not speak Italian, after all... -
nor84: Neither do I, but it's fairly obvious: I don't speak Italian -- or something very close. -
shelley kaye: i don't speak italian.... mais je ne sais un tres peu francais ;-)
    -
    sasil: Ah stercus... -
Espresso momma: Have a HAPPY honeymoon friend and come back with great stories and poems! Get your 'wife' in on FS too, she will love it!
    -
LadyCosgrove: It is - I don't speak Italian...
I went to Venice for my honeymoon. A wonderful place. -
    LadyCosgrove: Great answers lol...
another jim: I have no idea. I do not speak Italian, after all...
    -
fairy77: Lee I hope yo hear from you soon. Thanks for reviewing my work.I miss you.beth fairy77.Come back! -

themanicdude: I'm getting maried TODAY!!!! Now I'm scared. Thanks to everyone for their kind support
    shelley kaye: my sympathies.... -
LadyCosgrove: Have a great day!!! -
    ReaThomas: Good luck, Lee. -
    sasil: :D -
MissMerri: Congratulations Lee! If you've chosen well, you will soon know it was the wisest decision you've ever made. A loving partner can be a life-changer. I wish you all the best, and one-hundred years of happiness. MM -
    Xylok: CONGRATULATIONS POET! -

themanicdude: Um I'm geting marred on Wednesday, I have alot of mixed emotions about it.
LadyCosgrove: Did you just say your getting married!
    -
    redrider6612: You mean "you're getting married!"?? -
sasil: Married and mixed emotions...hope you get settled soon! -
LadyCosgrove: Pre-nuptial jitters creeps up on everyone. Don't Panic. :o) -
    Veekz: Good mixed emotions? -

themanicdude: The good news is today I finally feel someting, the bad news is I feel awful.
LadyCosgrove: Was hoping to see you online.
The great thing about feelings is that you can change them and turn them around. They are never set in stone. x -
LadyCosgrove: Is there anybody there? :o) -

themanicdude: Been up all night and now the sun has risen, I'm so sleepy

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
LadyCosgrove: Hey Lee, you're a Dr Who fan - Me too - Thought David Tenant was the best one though - The way his character used to take the P out of his adversaries. lol -
LadyCosgrove: What am I saying "Dr Who fan" - I could have put that better lol -
themanicdude: in the new episodes my fave doctor was played by Christopher Ecleson, in the older episodes it was Sylvester Mccoy -
LadyCosgrove: Oh yes... Christopher Ecclesden - he was the one with the mannequins at Christmas with Billy Piper. That's how Rose met the Dr. Great episode. -

themanicdude: Ok, I have come up witha conclusion to my day - I'm off to bed, g'd night
stalk my facebook if you want
www.facebook.com/themanicdude

themanicdude: Would like his next door neighbour dead, I wish she would turn that noise off. I'm going insane.....

themanicdude: I'm at home drinking malibu and coke, ignoring the front door amd ignoring the phone. Just me and FS.
sasil: Oh wow--been awhile since I've had malibu. Sticking with Jameson and coke or Moscato wine of late. Cheers! Slainte! -
ibaconi: Gotta say, Jameson is one of the principle keys to happiness.. I'd skip the Coke 'n stuff though! -
amarherig14: Read a message i sent you.It is at the bottom of all the posts you have received. -
    amarherig14: -

themanicdude: First part of my garden is complete, second part bought and paid for, hmm I wonder if I should get a dog to bark at my neighbours too. lol

themanicdude: life is getting me down, I am keeping this short because I don't want offend anyone. I think I need to go to hospital, or see a shrink. I suppose this is a written confession.....
sasil: Why would it offend that you need to take care of yourself, Lee? Be well and let us worry about ourselves. Wishing you the best--S. -
Jotting Pen: Try councelling, it helps. Most of all, remember there is always someone who will listen and care. -
Gungalo: Hopefully you ARE taking care of yourself, dude!!! We love ya too much to let you not hear our concerns. If you wanna talk, PM me!!! Okay? -
Espresso momma: I think you will find there are many here on FS who keep you in our prayers each day...Do what you must, we will hear from you again ...take care.. -
Patti R.: I sometimes feel like one of those kids playground see saws: I go up quickly, then drop hard to the ground. I am intimidated often by the 'job' of reviewing...but without 'dollars' I can't promote my own work. Ha, my own work! I haven't been able to write much lately...Life is getting in my way, interrupting my thoughts and moods...I try to keep the destination in mind. My personal destination is to release all this shit inside my head through writing. How's your day goin' so far, Lee? -
Espresso momma: I'm thinking of you Lee, keep a smile on your face...prayers for you..espresso momma -
    D.C. Manson: See a shrink = more pills..... -
    Gungalo: Photobucket

    miss joyce: Hey, hey, hey!!!!!!!

    Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    -

themanicdude: Again I'm struggling to keep up with reviews, I have read every one, and appreciate them all, Yet I need to take a break.
Lee
tamarap2: Reviewing can be a job when you take it seriously -
Espresso momma: Rest up, then look forward to seeing you again soon. Enjoy your week end...I'm sure you will follow the big wedding...take care. -
duchess bee: have you read the poems or satires of John Wilmont, 2nd Earl of Rochester (1647 - 1680). He wrote from pain he felt and about the despairs of life. He drank himself to death at an early age and had advanced syphillis. It was almost like he was punishing himself for being the type of person he despised. He was a genius and his poetry is black and angry. He wrote a couple of poems for his wife full of guilt for being unfaithful and they are quite tragic. Poetry should be written from within, whether joyful or sorrowful. -

themanicdude: Ok, it has taken some practise but I think I'm finally learning how to write reviews. I aim to be honest when writing my reviews, so I am now looking out for how work stands out, imagery, font, etc.

I'm finally learning. lol
tamarap2: Things you can consider: Rhyme, rhythm, flow, imagery, emotion, freshness within lines or use of words, line breaks which are very important to how a poem reads. I learned a lot about reviewing from reading other's reviews -
MacNizzle: Hey check out the forums. Lots of useful info on reviewing in there. -
JeJo: Yes, check out the forums. It is under the tab 'Profile' and then 'Forum'.. There are poetry, reviewing, general, and more forums, that are fun and informational to either look through or start your own thread by introducing a question you have or subject you want to bring up. -
Galadriel's Lyric: And I, of you. But, whatever.....
Just kiddin'! Have a great day and write well. -

themanicdude: I'm not in a good mood right now, and am taking negative critism badly. I am wondering if I am allowed to reply 'whatever' to negative critism on this site? It is so tempting.
tamarap2: Well, it is my understanding that you are not allowed to defend your work but in some cases- for instance some corrected my use of the word solicitude in one of my poem- told me it should be solitude. Evidently she did not look up the word before she corrected me and gave me a low rating. So, I did let her know the meaning of the word and why it made since to the piece. Sometimes, if someone has a question, I will answer. It's your call, but be careful and as diplomatic as possible because if you are too abrasive the poet might report you to the site- -
JeJo: Yes, what tamara said. Also, if responding negatively to the negative criticism is not normal, just wait a bit, a few hours, a few days to calm down, then answer politely. If you do respond negatively, someone might report you. -
redrider6612: Aside from that, consider that your negative response might scare off a reviewer who may help you grow as a writer. Stop and consider your reason for being here--to garner empty praise and climb a meaningless ladder of rank? or to grow and improve? (There is a discussion on this subject on my profile page.) -
themanicdude: It's not my work that I wish to defend, just more the way I was spoken too (whivh came across rude and brass). If I was spoken to like that in public, I would have given a very rude response. -
JeJo: You can always tell Tom about things like this and he will check it out and decide what to do :) -
nor84: JeJo's advice is good. When I first joined, I had nothing but glowing reviews until someone gave me three stars and said I didn't know how to write speech tags. I ignored him, slept on it, and decided to check his profile. Hmm...editor? teacher? Maybe the guy was right -- and he was. So it's best to sleep on it. And I wouldn't reply "whatever," which is rude and could be reportable to Tom. Just ignore the review. You'll get rude reviewers just like you'll get good ones. -
themanicdude: I don't think I'll bother Tom about this issue. I put the person in question on 'mute', and knowing that I am getting good advice on this matter, I will consider the issue sorted.

I think I was getting angry due to a servere lack of sleep. lol
I'm getting very addicted to FS.

    Lee X -
tamarap2: FB Anonymous is bound to start up somewhere -

themanicdude: Wake me in 5 Hours, add tea for instant human.

themanicdude: Ok I have spent the last hour or more catching u on feedback and I'm not even half way there. I read all feedback and am very grateful for it. Right now I would like to read some of your work now, and comment.

Sending you much love

Lee
tamarap2: Great I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR TAKE ON ANYTHING YOU WOULD WANT TO COMMENT ON re: my poetry. Anxious to hear from you -
tamarap2: Were you even talking to me? -

themanicdude: Me and one of my best friends are creating a 'text based' Roleplay group, we have run groups like this before, and would like to extend an invitation to all you aweome writers out there. This group is literally a story that jumps off the page, and we love awesome writers like you. The group is still in its creative stage, and should be ready in a few days. If you are interested, please comment below.

Lee
Cogitator: Start learning. Read first, then suggest. Put a leash on your desire...John -
MaryLinda: Edit, edit then read it out aloud. If it flows, then it's ready to go. MaryLinda -

themanicdude: I'm hungry to post, but have to wait. Grrrr
    tamarap2: Why -

themanicdude: I thankyou all for your feedback, and am overwhelmed by your awesome response. I am going to check out some poetry now, and watch some TV. So I apologise if I have not replied to your comments, just know that they are very much appreciated.

Take care

themanicdude: I'm alive and ready to write :)
sasil: You're writing some pretty wicked-cool stuff too! -
cjsthoughts: Your were born ready to write! YOU HAVE A GIFT!
    -
    tamarap2: and with a smile-nice -
amarherig14: you may write when you are angry but I noticed when you respond to the postings there is a funny side of you waiting to get out. Try writing something fuuny.Depression is a bad thing to have.I know. -

themanicdude: Is back on form, and has taken his medication that shall knock him out sometime soon, because that is normally what happens. Yet I am still waiting, however I do feel drousy, and .....
(Hi, um Lee has fallen asleep, I'm his GF and edited his bad typos here. He will be chatting away when he has done the washing up, it is his turn).

themanicdude: Ah finally that long awaited hangover - Good times
I think I was supposed to be doing something, but I can't quite remember what it was.......

themanicdude: everything is sweet

themanicdude: Having being glued to FS most of the day, the time has come where I must venture out (and get drunk), so sending you all much love.

Lee
themanicdude: i'm sooo pissed playing guitar -
    Veekz: I am so jealous!! :):) It's like 3pm on a Tuesday here and I'M BORED!! -

themanicdude: Yay, one of my poms reached recognised status *dances around the room*
    Jotting Pen: Congratulations!
I yearn for that accolade. Well done! -

themanicdude: It has arrived to that moment again where I have to figure out just what I should be watching on TV. Please reccomend to me some decent TV shows below please;
Veekz: My name is Earl!!! I have no idea if that's one of your options but man I love that show... :):) -
themanicdude: Thanks Veekz, I'm definately going to be renting that from the video store :)
Hopefully it'll help me get better :) -
sasil: Go see "Sucker Punch"--eat the popcorn, skip the drink--you won't want to miss the action scenes and cool music. -
Sarah_Goldwell: The only way is Essex. It is not a comedy show but it is hilarious. When you see the way they behave and the things they value in life, it should lift our depression for sure x -
sasil: If you like foreign films, check:
Johnny Stechino (spelling? Italian comedy) and MicMac (French action/comedy) & Pan's Labrynth (gotta love Guillermo Del Torro--Spanish, Fantasy/action/historical--dark) and Brotherhood of the Wolf (horror). OH! And Sleep Walkers (Mexican/Spanish--sci-fi/action) Anything by David Kronenberg (Canadian).
    S. -

themanicdude: This is the almighty 'Ping' box 1, write me something witty and fun, and I will aim to stop by and say hello on your profile.

themanicdude: I feel really ill today, please sedate me til I have more colour on my cheeks.
shelley kaye: *gets out markers and draws on manicdude's face*

themanicdude: I'm a vegetarian ex smoker, who has focused his anger into his writing.
shelley kaye: i love big juicy cheeseburgers....

themanicdude: I discovered this great site today, with some awesome tips on being creative. It's very inspiring

http://www.austinkleon.com/2011/03/30/how-to-steal-like-an-artist-and-9-other-things-nobody-told-me/

themanicdude: My Grandfather has passed away, and he will be dearly missed. I am blaming myself for many things, but most not saying goodbye the way I wish I did. No image this time as I feel it would be somewhat inappropriate.
barkingdog: So sorry to read about your loss. Write it all out. He would have loved your tribute to him through your writing. Take care. -
MissMerri: I'm sorry about your grandfather Lee. It is so difficult to part with those who mean a lot to us, but I'm learning that they somehow stay with us the rest of our lives... in the memories, the advice we never get away from, the way they've influenced, and continue to influence our decisions. I know you'll find this true as the months go by. Meanwhile, write to him. Tell him all the things you wish you could have said. Hugs, MM -

themanicdude: I want to avoid the world today
Laurie Clayton: Time for a group hug? *Squeeeeze* -

themanicdude: Sorry I have been away, I have been chasing up old messages, and have noticed that alot has gone on in the last 12 days, so I will have to catch up with you all. I'm back now, and hopefully will get posting like crazy again. lol

take care everyone
Lee
    VicToria76: Time flies when you're having fun :) -

themanicdude: What a weekend, Saturday visting both the Science museum, and the Natural History Museum, wish i wore more comfortable shoes though. lol

I'm feeling blue today, and most likely the next couple of days, yet I aim to smile through it.

themanicdude: It's now my birthday 29 today *Gulp!*
another jim: If it's all the same to you, I'll let Sir Paul do my talkin'...

VicToria76: Glad you're not feeling so doom and gloom...every morning is the start of a brand new day :) -

themanicdude: Today I have no hangover, its my birthday tomorrow, and I bet I'll be forgotten again by my whole family. Kinda funny when they exect me to remember them, yet the then seem ever so quick to forget about me. What's worse is they al know that I struggle with things at this time of year, suicide is always on my mind.

themanicdude: Today I was in a ssense hoping to wake with a hangover, instead awoke to find that no-one wanted to go clubbing with me out of 40 people. Even those who said a definate 'yes' bailed.

So my birthday this year shall consist of me doing the same as last year, which will be alot of crying, ans self harming hoping the pain I feel inside will go away.

I really hate November

themanicdude: Looking forward to going out tonight, will be dressed in drag for a fancy dress. I'm going to be sooo wasted. lol

themanicdude: Feeling kinda bloated, kinda odd as I have barely been eating the last week. Well I'll get some sleep, and look forward to viewing all your lovely comments to come

themanicdude: Very upset this week due to personal reasons
AlvinTEthington: PM me if you wish to.

Hello everyone, I'm Lee. I Live in the UK, and have been living witha disability for over ten years. I write alot of poetry from a dark angry nature, before you ask yes I am on antidepressants. Yet I still feel the hurt and the pain within, to which is where my poetry stems from.

Ok, now my online screen-name is 'themanicdude'. There have been many differantions of this, such as;
The Man
Dude
TMD
Manicdude
and Mr M.
I dislike all of these abreviations. So please just remember in lowercase it's 'themanicdude', or if youwant a nice short name, just call me Lee.

I love this site as everyone is so welcoming and friendly, it is helping me get through some tough times.

I read alot of poems on this site, yet I don't like to comment on poetry about politics, sexism, or organised religion. I am a pagan who hates politics, and I believe men and women are equal in their own right.

If you like what you read, feel me to follow me as a fan, and I will honour you with the same courtesy.
