Arkine: So, unfortunately, I'm going to have to shut my FS account down for a while. I know it's only $10 a month, but right now that's $10 that I don't really have available. I'll be back, though. :)
DR DIP: Arkine it would be cheaper to save up for a yearly subscription. I stopped getting a coffee and a muffin for a week and paid for it that way
    -

Arkine: So, it says the last post I made here was May of 2014...it's been a while. Hi.
    Dean Kuch: photo ab151231-e148-434e-a1f7-0a442f555818_zpsqqovtenm.jpg -
    --Turtle.: Welcome back... -

Arkine: Okay, so I am taking a much, much needed break from school. Going insane with the horse training, barn construction, etc., etc. Got addicted to a TV show, but that might actually be a good thing as it has begun to re-awaken my muse ... ass---- that he is. So, writing is very rusty, but it kind of feels good to be doing again. :)

Arkine: ~Crawls out from under a moss covered rock~
What's up?
shelley kaye: the walls holding the ceiling....

    -
adewpearl: Hey, it's great to see your name! -
Arkine: Shelley - I don't know, with this wind around here....

    Pearl - ;) -

Arkine: So, I went back to an older version of the first book in the Nihility series. It's complete, so I think I'm going to move forward with it. I'm having an editor give me a critique to see if there's still some issues that need solving. With luck, it should be published in a couple of weeks--I hope.

Arkine: I think I'm going to have to close my account. :( Finances and school being the way they are....

I suppose I can wait and see if I get a tax return, if not then I'll have to close it.

Arkine: There are days when I just wish life would leave me alone.
Aaron James: There are days when I just wish life would stop passing me by! ;) -
    Arkine: Aaron > ~L~ There's that too... -

Arkine: I'm down to one class again so maybe I'll have time to do something other than drawing.

Arkine: I have a much higher respect for 2D animators than I used to. It's far more difficult than painting a scenery, or portrait--not that those aren't difficult. But anyone that thinks that animators are hack artists is full of crap, and doesn't know a damn thing about it. Sorry, just had to voice that.
--Turtle.: I think the sentiment applies to any craft out there that requires a certain sort of mastery to produce a desired output. We make assumptions, but sometimes only until someone tries to walk the walk can they appreciate the skill involved. -
    DIS-illusioned: Hear, hear, Arkine--hear, hear!
    :) -
Arkine: Turtle > A very good point. :) And really, it applies to any job field.

    Dis > ;) -

Arkine: Blah! Seems like everytime I come back here they've changed the site in some way. Seriously, what's with the purple?
DIS-illusioned: You have been crowned royalty. Enjoy!
    :) -
Arkine: Dis - ~LOL~ Does that come with a pay raise? -
Arkine: Oh, God! It doesn't go away! I tried to modify the colors and the purple just stays there. Aaaaahh! Well, changing the background to grey muted the purple a bit, I guess it's tolerable now. -
Lady & Louis: To plagiarise a comment of snodlander's, maybe they've been bought out by Cadbury's ... -
    Arkine: Lady & Louis > ~LMAO~ Maybe.... Hmmm. -
--Turtle.: The funny part to me is they did a survey, then the first thing implemented was the color purple. Really... How many people were like... You know what this site needs? ... bright purple??

I think there are subliminal messages hidden in the purples. -
    Arkine: Purple - "Buy Cadbury's, buy Cadbury's, you want to eat Cadbury's...." ~L~ -
Lady & Louis: A glass and a half of full-cream milk in every Fanstory review ... -

Arkine: Oie, what a year. Thought I'd stop in and say, "Hi." Maybe post something? ;)
adewpearl: Hello, my friend :-) I do hope you post! -
Aislinge: Hey there! Glad you've surfaced. Off to read your post... Happy Monday! -

Arkine: Update:

Life sucks, but we muddle through it.

Currently, I am searching for a part-time job. Still going to school--trying to refine and gain new art skills. I am attempting to put together a script, but, since I've never written one before, it's all trial and error--for the moment.

I think my muse is back from his sabbatical ... but it's slow going, the gears are rusty.

Hope all is well with everyone!
--Turtle.: My muse is in the bathroom crying I believe. Very sad. Won't come out. Not even for coffee. Maybe for a cookie... I think I'll try again today.
    -
Aislinge: I know how that goes, when the muse takes a sabbatical and leaves you behind. Keep trying--those muses come back eventually :-) Try some good dark chocolate ... -
Arkine: Turtle > Oreoes and milk might do the trick. ;)

    Aislinge > I love dark chocolate. ;) -
nor84: Fire your muse, Turtle, and recruit a new one. There must be more of them out there. -
--Turtle.: Oreoes, perhaps dipped in dark chocolate...? That sounds right tasty.

And, Nor, now that you mention it, there is a muse whispering from the closet. Might see what she has to say, right after I lick the wounds of hosting a contest. Boy, am I not cut out for that. -
Arkine: Nor84 > ~L~ That sounds like good advice right now. ;) -

Arkine: Hey look, I'm still alive! ~L~ Just thought I'd drop by and give an update as to current events ... for those that would like to know.

I am maintaining a 4.0 GPA at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. It's a lot of work but I'm really enjoying it too.

Nihility is still on hold, sorry about that.

My GLBT Erotica might be in print soon, hopefully.

Life has really thrown me for a loop though, some outside stuff has happened--I won't go into details but, it's been very stressful.

I really miss you guys! I hope things are well with everyone!
    adewpearl: I'm impressed :-) -
--Turtle.: Time moves too fast... Way to go on the GPA! :) -
    lpstribling: good work -
Aislinge: Miss you! Hope everything quiets down enough for you to come on back. See you at NaNo this year?? -

Arkine: I've been accepted to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh (online). I'll be taking classes for a Bachelor's in Media Art and Animation. If you want to see my newest pictures, just go over to FanArtReview, I'm under the same user name: Arkine
    adewpearl: Congratulations :-) -
Arkine: Thanks Brooke! I'm really excited about it. :D -
MyYiaYia: Wow! I have been wondering what happened to you. I sure miss your novel. Can't get my vampire fix. -
Sefiros: if you could I'd like you to check out my blog at: http://worldaccordingtowolff.wordpress.com/. thank you in advance. -
lpstribling: Arkine - Rock on! That's wonderful. I'm very happy for you and look forward to hearing about it. What will your major be? -
Arkine: Deb > Yeah, sorry about that. I had to put Nihility on the back burner ... for now, but restashured that it is pretty much the engine behind all that I do. ;)

    Sefiros > I'll take a look!

Ipstribling > My majore is Media Art and Animation. It's been a lot of fun so far, but a lot of work too. Thx! -

Arkine: Life moves at break-neck speed.

Okay, so "The Stripling" my short horror story has been disabled because it is now published.

I am also writing under the pen name:
Cody Falinn

For those interested in viewing the website and/or published works there is a link in my profile.

I will be going to school for a second degree so time is EXTREMELY limited. Sorry, but I probably won't be able to keep up with most of your writing. I will try to pop in and review stuff when I can.

For the moment I am working on finishing some older stories that are all close to "ready for publishing". That's why I haven't posted any chapters for Nihility lately. I will continue working on it--again as time permits.

Anyhow, I hope everyone is doing well!
    nor84: Great news! -
lpstribling: Well done, Arkine! That's fantastic news! Good on you! -

Arkine: I won the Horror challenge. Kewl. :)
    lpstribling: Woot! Well done! -
--Turtle.: I was going to congrats you on that :D -
lpstribling: Sweet! Well done, Arkine! -

Arkine: ~pokes challenges thingy~ What the heck is this?
    lpstribling: concur -
    --Turtle.: I'm easily frightened. -
    Arkine: Hmmm -
Arkine: A contest thingy ... me thinks this could get ugly. ~LOL~ -

Arkine: Once again playing catchup. Why am I always doing this? ~L~

Arkine: I posted a larger picture of the book cover on FanArtReview.com ... unfortunately, it's still kind of blurry. I will probably have to change the resolution and re-render the whole thing ... ugh. But if you'd like to look at it, then go here:

http://www.fanartreview.com/displaystory.jsp?id=251526
lpstribling: Arkine - great looking cover! Are you working on publishing the story when it's all done? Sweet deal! All the best to you! -
Arkine: That's the plan. ;) Glad you liked the cover! -

Arkine: I'm Baaaaack! ~L~ Okay, so for those of you that didn't catch my post, I've scrapped books 1-3 (kind of) and now I'm re-working Book 4 to be the first book in the series ... it just works better this way. I have disabled all Nihility books on FS (sorry, it was necessary) in preperation ... I don't want anyone getting confused--especially me. So, hope to get back in touch with everyone again. :)
    --Turtle.: Welcome back. : ) -
    Arkine: Thank ya. :) -

Arkine: No body move! I've dropped me brain.
--Turtle.: Uh, oh... I recall stepping on something squishy. :p Hope that wasn't yours ... or mine. -
Arkine: ~LOL~ Ah, the joys of insanity. -

Arkine: Not enough hours in a day.
    --Turtle.: I hear ya'.
    :/
They don't make 24hours like they used to. -
    Arkine: ~L~ -

Arkine: One of my daughter's poems is getting published! I'm so proud! XD
    --Turtle.: :D Pretty cool! -
    Arkine: Yeppers! :) -

Arkine: Been distracted with a 3D art program. I'm attempting to learn how to use it more effectively. I think it's coming along okay, but it definitely eats up a lot of time. Anyhow, still around, just very busy lately. :)

Arkine: Time is limited, but I am trying to catch up with messages. :)
--Turtle.: So many things on the list of things to do, but ain't there? -
Arkine: Too many things. I think I need to make a list for my list. ~L~ -

Arkine: And now,
Happy New Year!
Aislinge: Congrats on making it into the top 10! Kudos to you! -
    Arkine: Thanks Aislinge. It's a first! :) -
--Turtle.: Total Congrats! It ain't easy to do. :) -
MyYiaYia: Hey, is this Happy New Year for 2012? Has it been that long? You still in school? Hey, what's going on? LOL! Deb :0) -

Arkine: Merry Christmas everyone!

Arkine: Okay, at this point, I will say that I'm very ill. I don't know what I caught, but it has knocked me on my ass. You'll just have to be patient with my reviews and replies. I think I might go back to bed now.
RavenShrift: Aww.... hope you fell better soon. -
Arkine: Thanks Raven! I hope so too. -
adewpearl: Please take care of yourself - better to be stuck in bed for a few days than make things worse :-) -
Arkine: Thanks, Brooke! It started last Thurs. and hasn't let up much. I think it's some kind of stomach flu. Definitely a virus. I'm just trying to get plenty of rest. -

Arkine: Ugh. I'm sick and I'm supposed to go to a Xmas party tonight. Figures. But, at least it's snowing!

Arkine: SNAFU!

Arkine: Too much stuff going on right now. I have another person living at my house and she's not doing so well. Just a lot going on. Will try to catch up later this week.

Arkine: Whoohoo! I've caught up my messages!

Arkine: Damn, but you people write too much! ~L~ Every time I'm almost caught up, 3 more messages appear. Sheesh.

Arkine: Slowly catching up on messages, bear with me a while longer.

Arkine: Okay, I am now WAY behind on my messages. I will try to catch up as soon as I can, but between work an NaNo my time has been very short. Anyhow, still around, still reading just got behind. :)

Arkine: Okay folks! NaNo starts at midnight tonight! Which means several of us will be entering writing frenzies! Yay! I will try to keep up with messages, but I probably won't be posting. Unless I get a wild hair and decide to write a chapter or two while I'm at it. ~L~ Good luck to everyone participating in NaNo 2010!
--Turtle.: I'll be at it at 12:01 too! Looking forward to getting started. :D -
Nicnac: Best wishes with your novel, Arkine. :) I am participating for the first time this year. It's only hours away...
    Woot! Woot! -
Arkine: Nicnac > Same to you! What's your handle? I'll add you to my buddies list. ;) -
Border Reiver: Gosh Turtle, you're crazy. I won't be starting until about 7.30 pm. I'm up at 5.30am so I need to get to bed early. NaNoWriMo has now kicked off in my beloved Spain. -
--Turtle.: :) Happy writing in the morning! -
    Jonez08: Good luck! -

Arkine: ~Dies laughing~ So, someone (on another site) stated that my writing is Purple Patches Prose - Overly descriptive in spots and intending to manipulate the reader's emotions often with sexual 'tones' though not always ... WELL DUH!

I don't even think I can take that for the critizism it was supposed to be. Heck, some of the best authors in the world have been accused of using Purple Prose, AKA Pulp. Now, I didn't realize it was Pulp or similar to that but ... okay, whatever.

Just struck me as extremely funny. ;)
last chance charley: I am waiting until Nov. to read anythinf new so I can spend a six or two. Funny someone said I should leave the cololr description of the flowers in spring. Anne Rice does disription to death love her...Cause I fancy my self a non vampire brat version of LeStat...everyones a critic lol... and bad reviews suck!!!! Readers run the gambit...One day a fsn base that gets the writing if not the writer...You are close to that in my humble opinion -
    --Turtle.:
    ...

    I like little details. -
Arkine: Well, it's not so much little details, it's the way I present them. -
sasil: Gotta agree with you on Anne Rice--love her, but seriously do not need the 2 paragraph description of the room's window treatments where some unfortunate happenings cause much mess...lol. Gotta love her... -
Arkine: Sorry, for the late reply, I didn't realize this had been posted. ~L~ Yep, Love Anne Rice, but she does get a bit wordy sometimes. ;) -

Arkine: I HATE TECHNOLOGY ... sometimes. So get this, my brand new fax/printer won't recognize a six prong phone cord, but it'll recognize a ten-year-old two prong. WTF???
--Turtle.: Is that the diff between an ether net connection and a phone line, bla, I don't know. I think technology is fun. -
--Turtle.: until it starts messing with you, that is. -
Arkine: No, Ethernet is different. This is a standard phone cord, except is has six prongs instead of 2. For some damn reason, the fax machines (2 of them) won't recognize it. Weird and frustrating. -

Arkine: 28 Days until NaNo! Muahahahahha....
    --Turtle.: NaNo?

--I'm just happy to be in October. I'm going to stay in it for as long as I can. -
Arkine: National Novel Writers Month - November. And, yes I love October too, but NaNo is a blast! :) -
--Turtle.: Oh, isn't that the month they do the write a novel in thirty days. -
Arkine: Yep. How do you think I wrote 5 books? ~L~ website: www.nanowrimo.org/ -
    --Turtle.: Ah, I don't think I can write a book in a month. Ha. I'm starting to think I can't do anything in a month. :p -
Arkine: That's part of the challenge. You get an idea and just run with it. No editing, no going back and re-writing. That can all be done later. It's just a pure writing frenzy and it's a blast. ;) -
Lois Delaney: I put my name in, but I don't think I will be able to manage writing because of two babies in the house who require full time attention. We'll see. Tell me about what you are writing about! -
Arkine: Lois> Very cool, let me know what your user name is and I'll add it to my buddy list. I decided to take one of my short stories and expand it to novel length. I'll have more of a summary listed on NaNo in the next week or two. I need to work out a viable plot. ;) -
    --Turtle.: The ring?? :D -
    --Turtle.: The ring?? :D -
Arkine: ~L~ Yes, I'm taking that to Novel length. By the way, did you sign up yet? -

Arkine: Okay, computer was NOT fixed. Went and dug one out of storage that my sister gave us a few years ago. Seems to be working pretty well so far. I was able to transfer data from one to the other so shouldn't be any delays in posting ... I hope.
L.lora: Glad your no longer computerless, however--looking for an addition to your book after the half scottish riot...LOL. OK, as for the post of the first pring--I'll wait till your done and I also want the book when you get to publishing...let's see now, how is your plant? Didn't know those came from NC, another reason I stay out of the swamps here...haha. -
Arkine: I spent about 2 hours reading up on these darn plants. ~L~ I think it's doing okay. I'm not positive though...

As for Book 4, I'm working the kinks out of the next chapter. ;)

As for Book 1; after I send it through the grinder here, then I need to do another run-through myself, then I have to contact an editor that lives close by (as in, less than 100 miles). After she gets done with it, then it should be ready. ~L~ Sounds like a lot, doesn't it? -

Arkine: Well got the damn computer fixed.

I now have a carnivorous plant in my house. ~eyes tiny Venus Flytrap thingy~ How the hell do I feed this thing? ~L~ Guess I better do some research.
Arkine: The box LIED! This is NOT an easy plant to take care of! I'm going to kill the poor thing, I just know it. ~L~ -
--Turtle.: lol. I killed the most robust plant I've ever seen today. Very sad. -
Arkine: How'd you kill it in one day??? -
MyYiaYia: There are several different kinds of carnivorous plants, but I think the Venus Fly Trap grows only in a swamp in NC. Strange that, don't you think? Maybe you could use it in one of your horror stories. :0) -
Arkine: ~L~ Swamplands of N. & S. Carolina. There are 4 carnivorous plants. I could have gotten all of them, but I've always wanted a VFT. ... are we having flashbacks of Little Shop of Horrors? ;) -
    Arkine: Feed Me, Seymour! -
--Turtle.: I didn't water it, and then I knocked it over.

I could just see myself force feeding a plant a fly -
Arkine: Unfortunately, the big snappers on mine have been exhausted (they can only open and close about 12 times, then revert to a normal leaf). I have to wait until the smaller snappers get larger before I can feed it. Then, in Nov. it'll probably go into hybernation until April. -
Arkine: But yes, I had a fly on a toothpick and stuck it in the snapper. ~L~ -
LadyAnara: I killed a cactus, I have a black thumb. I can do everything right and I still kill the plant. very cool that you got a VFT, I hope you don't kill it. -
Arkine: ~L~ Yeah, I remember that poor cactus. I'm trying to keep this darn thing alive. -
MyYiaYia: Well, N & S Carolina. I guess they are spreading. Reminds me of the "Day of the Trifids". I had the VFT once and after reading about there only being one area where they were found, (come on, one area in the whole world) with my vivid imagination (I was also very young), you can imagine my thoughts. I just knew it was an alien life form waiting for the dead of night to get up from its pot and creep into my bedroom for a midnight snack, namely me. I had to get rid of it to stop the nightmares. LOL! :0) -
Arkine: ~LOL~ Luckily they don't get anywhere near that large. ;) -

Arkine: Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!
shelley kaye: if ya gona scream - do it right.... AAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    -
    Arkine: ~LOL~ You've got a point there.... -

Arkine: >:( My internet connection is being STUPID today!
adewpearl: If it was being stupid about this site, I wouldn't blame it on the computer - I was having an awful time an hour or so ago, and ONLY with this site. -
Arkine: I was having problems with several sites, so I'm pretty sure it was my connetion. Praise be the Internet God because it seems to work now! ~LMAO~ Okay, I'm in a strange mood today. -
Jonez08: You've had a lot of rainy days, so your flowers should be in bloom soon! :0) -
    Arkine: I can only hope. ;) -

Arkine: Oh, so that car, the one I just spent $2,500 bucks on a few weeks ago ... blew a headgasket. Yep, this is my luck, if it weren't bad I wouldn't have any at all. I think I'd prefer that.

Arkine: Mindless rambling

~sighs~ My trees died, all three of them that I was trying to grow. We were getting plenty of rain, I guess the sun just baked them. However, the Austrian Pine we planted last year is still alive. I guess I need to buy a bunch of those next spring.
shelley kaye: my sympathies.... when's the funeral?
    -
Arkine: Whenever I run over them with the lawn mower. ~L~ They were only about 2 feet tall. -
LadyAnara: That sucks. They where good tress and will be missed. -

Arkine: Still around, just been very busy. Will try to catch up this weekend.
adewpearl: Glad to hear it - hello, my friend :-) -
--Turtle.: I was thinking snakes, or maybe zombies. Its nice to see you stop by. -
Arkine: Schedule got all screwed up. Trying to get things back on track. Snakes and Zombies? ~L~ -

Arkine: ... I really should get back to work on my book. ~L~
--Turtle.: Ah the call... nice to see you peek in. :) -
LadyAnara: I know that feeling. You should get back to work on your book and I should get back to work on mine. ~L~ -
Arkine: ~L~ Yes, you should. So little time... -

Arkine: New job, been busy. I'll try to catch up when I can.
--Turtle.: Hope the new job is going well. -
Arkine: It's okay, so far. -

Arkine: $2500 bucks, that's what it's going to cost to get the car fixed. ~sighs~ Seriously beginning to look like I won't be getting the book republished in Nov. Damn it.
--Turtle.: Sheesh, for that you could look at buying a new used car. : (

    Really bites. -
Arkine: Yep, but our thought was, what kinds of problems is the new used car going to have? At least with this one, we already know what's wrong. -
--Turtle.: Bad credit verse no credit. Probably best.

Back in the day, my mom really know how to work her barber chair. She would find a used car for a few thousand dollars that was ten years old but only had like 30,000 miles on it. Cars used to drive to Bingo and back...

I had a car that dropped a transmission though, my little tempo named Cleo. I had it fixed and it lasted me many more years, and then I gave it to my dad, who drove it for many more after that. -
Arkine: I'm hoping this one lasts us at least a couple of years after this repair job. If it does then it's worth it, if not ... well, you take your chances I guess. -
Alison Williams: Cars are a sinkhole! I remember having to pay that for a reconditioned engine in an old car I had, a few months later it got stolen and trashed, had to be written off. I have come to the conclusion that cars are a sinkhole, even new ones still cost money! Hugs. -
Alison Williams: Cars are a sinkhole! I remember having to pay that for a reconditioned engine in an old car I had, a few months later it got stolen and trashed, had to be written off. Even new ones still cost money! Hugs. -
Arkine: Yep, they are and new ones require too much computer equipment to be able to work on at home. I want my Trans Am back.... -

Arkine: And now the electric dryer that we've only had for 2 years is broke ... I wish they'd start making stuff to last again. That would be nice.
--Turtle.: The days of not cheap crap are pretty much over. It's much more lucrative to make crap, so it will break, so you have to buy more crap.
    -
Arkine: Yep, this will probably cost us $200 ... almost could have bought a new dryer for that. -

Arkine: Car shelled it's transmission today, making me miss work ... yeah, it's been fun. Will try to catch up with reviewing when I can.
shelley kaye: i feel your pain - my car's transmission stopped last september :-P
    -
Arkine: Yep, it's going to cost us 2 grand ... oie. -

Arkine: There are few people in this world worthy of trust ... don't you just love it when family members screw you over?
another jim: Is that a rhetorical question? ;-D -
Arkine: ~L~ Yeah, I'm not sure I was looking for an answer. ;) -
--Turtle.: my mom tried to sue me once. -
Arkine: Okay, my issue wasn't THAT bad at least. Though, I'm extremely curious about the story behind that. -

Arkine: Damn grasshoppers ate my new bushes!
shelley kaye: is this a euphormism (sp?) for something? lol

Arkine: ~LOL~ No, it's literal, the stupid grasshoppers are bad this year. Though, they left the two pine trees alone. -
Jonez08: lol..In Florida grasshoppers aren't a problem, at least not at my house, but lizzards are(the one's that look like miniature dinosaurs) and of course those slithering snakes that I despise. -
--Turtle.: : o The seventeen year locusts? -
Arkine: I'd take lizards over grasshoppers, and snakes--I shoot them. ~L~ -
    Jonez08: lol ... I guess I'm a wimp -
Arkine: ~L~ I doubt very much you're a wimp. I just grew up mainly with my dad and the other boys in the neighborhood as friends. ;) -
Jonez08: Well you've taught me something, just shoot them..lol -

Arkine: ~bangs head against wall~ Everyone wants a chunk of my time. ~L~
lpstribling: By that you 'mean everyone by lpstribling', right? I mean, I don't. I mean, if you want to donate some of your time to me, that's..that's fine. I'm just sayin' that, that I don't want a chunk. Okay, okay, maybe a bit, like a morsel, but nothing more. Well, okay, maybe more than a morsel..umm, maybe a dollop, but that's it, a dollop, max. Period. ... Okay, fine a chunk. But not nearly the size of chunks these other greedy beasts are ripping out of you! -
Arkine: ~LMAO~ Okay, that was funny. I needed a good laugh ... and sleep. Sleep would be good. -

Arkine: Happy 4th of July!
adewpearl: Happy Fourth to you, too!! Tell Andy and Cosmo I send my holiday wishes to them, too : -) -
    Arkine: ~LOL~ Will do. ;) -
prophetess: Hope your fourth of July was a bang. Lol. -
Arkine: ~L~ Unfortunately, not really. I was working on the house all day, though I did step out that evening and watch some fireworks. :) -

Arkine: I have less than a week to complete a stem wall under my house. Oh joy....
another jim: I'd swing by your place to help with that stem wall, if I knew what one was...but I'm too damned lazy to google it! LOL! -
Arkine: ~LOL~ A small wall that goes under a mobile home, doesn't really support anything, just looks nice. But the appraiser is coming out next week so I gotta get it done! -

Arkine: I'm BACK! At least, physically. Mentally ... hmmm.
    --Turtle.: Welcome Back! -
shelley kaye: were you gone - physically? mentally we already know ;-)
    -
Arkine: ~LOL~ Yeah, okay, my disguise of normallicy doesn't work very well ... I need a new one. ;) -
LadyAnara: you have a disguise of normallicy? wow you really do need a new one. LOL -
    Arkine: Hey, that's not nice. ~LOL~ -

Arkine: Okay so apparently I'm now going for training. Most likely won't be on at all next week, though I'll try to beg/borrow a computer and internet access while I'm away. But, if you don't hear from me, that's why.
--Turtle.: Take care and hoping for a good week of training for you. And don't pet any raccoons. Not that I think your foolish enough to do so, but just in case. -
    Arkine:
    Pet raccoons? *LOL* -

Arkine:
--Turtle.: Yeah... that's what I say, too.

    : ) -
Arkine: ~LOL~ I must have accidently hit the button or something. I have no idea how this got posted. -
--Turtle.: Hmmm, Sleep posting, a hazardous past time. -
Arkine: ~LOL~ Oh No! Everyone knows my secret now... -

Arkine: Blah, nasty! Nasty hamburgers, and I cooked them! Word of advice, cough up the dough and buy the more expensive frozen hamburger patties, they're well worth the cost. These cheapos ... I'm not even sure it's actually meat.
--Turtle.: Hmmm, that and peanut butter... don't skimp on peanut butter. Or ice cream!

Unless the icecream is for kids... I don't think they can tell. But they can tell on the peanut butter. -
Arkine: Actually, the cheapo ice cream at our local store isn't bad at all, but yeah, definitely name brand on the peanut butter. -
Arkine: I think I'll cook the patties ... and give them to the dogs, they'll be thrilled. Blah, nasty meat. -

Arkine: ~grumbles~ Well, I think I finally figured out the problem with Book 1 ... the entire plot. ~wanders off to do a complete tear-down and rewrite~ Oh yes, if you're wondering another rejection arrived a few days ago. Maybe this time I'll get it right.
--Turtle.: I'm sorry to hear that another rejection letter came. The very thought tends to leave me discombobulated. Will you be posting the rewrites?
    -
Arkine: I'm not sure. It is a different story, but some themes will remain the same. I posted it here before, the first time I rewrote it. But, I also want to get this done as quickly as possible so, I probably wouldn't be putting much of a reward on it. I already re-vamped the prologue and am working on Chapter 1. Maybe I should put it to a vote? ~L~ -

Arkine: Lalalala la... Okay, it's a weird day! Muahahaha...
shelley kaye: la la la la elmo's world.... LOL
    -

Arkine: Sorry folks, been very busy lately and haven't had time nor energy to be on here. I will try to catch up as soon as I can. :)
--Turtle.: Messages sure pile up fast though, don't they. : )
    -
Arkine: Yep, but I got through them all. Yay! ~L~ -

Arkine: Anyone have any idea how to use Poser 7 effectively? Seriously, I need help! ~LOL~
shelley kaye: don't even know what it is lol :-p
    -
RolandtheGunslinger: Hello. I wanted to begin reading the ANdy Arkine books. What I found though was only the fourth book. Could you point me in the right direction so I could begin at the very beginning? Thanks -
Arkine: Shelley - It's a 3D graphic art program for creating 3D scenes and animations. The posing of the characters isn't so hard to figure out, but they won't keep their clothes and hair on! ~LOL~

Roland - Check your private messages. :) -
--Turtle.: Sounds fun... and frustrating. -

Arkine: ~grumbles~ Writer's block ...
Alison Williams: Hey! Congrats on winning second place for your purple prose! I'm so glad you did especially for your first one! Way to go, and well deserved! Hugs, Ali -
Arkine: ~L~ Thanks, Ali! Yep, I was a bit stunned, but tickled to death too. :) And your threesome came in third! I didn't get second by much. ;) I might have to try that again. ~L~ -
FREE-ONE: Congrats on your win- -
Arkine: Well, it wasn't really a win. Margaret won the contest, I just got second. But I was happy with it. ;) -
FREE-ONE: I feel it was a win-because you took the time to post and it was recognize beyond it being a great read...It's a win in my book and I say congrats again...for your win! -
Arkine: ~L~ Well, you got a point there Riversa! ;) I really didn't expect it to do as well as it did, and because of that, I will definitely expand it (might even post the expansion) and see if I can get a publisher to pick it up. ;) -

Arkine: Well, crap. Doc doesn't know what's wrong, dentist doesn't know what's wrong either. Whatever is happening with my jaw, continues to cause me a lot of pain. I love a good mystery, but not like this! :(
bohemiangeek: so sorry for your pain, but you have to find other Docs, don't give up. -
Arkine: Well, they both said the same thing, use the antibiotics and if it's still there then ... well, they didn't quite finish that statement. Yeah, it hasn't been fun. Thanks, Bohemian. I'm hanging in there. -
    FREE-ONE: I love second-as you can tell that's a first to me! -

Arkine: Yes, I changed my profile pic, because I'm grouchy and felt the need. Besides, I'm quite fond of that pic. ~LOL~
--Turtle.: I like this pick, too. -
prophetess: I like the new pic too. Sorry you're feeling bad, that sucks. Hope you feel better soon. -
Isaiah Ramesses: The avatar has a 'delicious wickedness' to it, my friend. Love it. -
Arkine: Teehee. Thanks guys! Glad you like it. :) -
LadyAnara: I'm fairly fond of that pic too. I hope you are feeling better. -

Arkine: I hate being sick! Restless and I want to do something but everytime I start moving around my ear starts throbbing. Ugh! Definitely going to the doc tomorrow.

Arkine: National Police Week starts May, 9th!
adewpearl: Happy Police Week to my favorite ever reserve police officer :-) -
Arkine: Teehee, thank ya. :) -
    LadyAnara: Happy Police Week! -
    Arkine: Thank ya! :) -
lpstribling: Arkine, I used one of your drawings for a poem of mine. I thought it apt for the piece. Thank you for that. -
Arkine: I've been meaning to go look at that. I got a notice on FAR, but I just haven't had time today. I will go take a look this evening. ;) -
    Arkine: Ipstribling - I love that poem! ;) -

Arkine: Ugh! What the hell am I doing wrong here? Another rejection letter. Sheesh. Though, at least it didn't seem like a 'copy & paste' letter. Oh well, I'll keep trying.
--Turtle.: I don't know, cause I like your writing lots. Your characters have soul, and demons... Good that you will keep on trying, at least you are out there, taking the steps. I wish I knew what which way to point was, but alas.

I am, by the way, not the best when it comes to inspiring words. -
Arkine: No worries, I'm just sooo frustrated with it. Publishers (at least the big dogs) won't even glance your direction unless you have an agent, and agents don't want to look at you unless you've been published ... eh? WTF, so how is one ever supposed to get published? Or maybe I just suck at query letters. ~LOL~ -

Arkine: I have a new Blackberry Storm 2 phone ... haven't decided if I like it, yet. ~L~
--Turtle.: I've just ventured into using my phone's capability to text this month... one of those flippy kinds. -
Arkine: I had a very low-end model flippy-kind before, texting is hard on those. ~L~ -

Arkine: Computer is dying. Turned it on this morning and it's making some bad noises. Attempting to back it up to a storage device, hopefully, I'll get everyting transferred. ~sighs~ If it's not one thing its another. Damn it.
adewpearl: Tell your computer it is not allowed to die - I need my regular Andy fix :-) -
Arkine: ~LOL~ I have another computer, but the book isn't on there. We bought a $120 dollar backup storage unit ... just in case. Though, each time I add a chapter I have to back up the new info to this unit. Irritating, but if something were to happen ... I'd cry if I had to try and start from scratch. ~L~ -
CALLAHANMR: We use Carbonite.com online backup. For $54.95 per year, it backs up and double encrypts every word. Files can be recovered on any computer world-wide in case of computer failure. totally secure with real time backup of every keystroke. It has saved us several times in last two years. Roger -
Arkine: Thanks, Roger! I'll look into it. :) -

Arkine: Hmmm, well the agent got back with me. I'm going to have the contract looked over before I sign anything. From what I understood it was pretty straight forward. Guess I better pull out book 2 and go through it one more time. ;)
Arkine: Okay, agency is a no so back to the grindstone. -
jack silver: don't know what the agency were thinking! -
Arkine: They're more like a gateway to a self-publishing company. They'd be happy to take my work, but if I want to self-publish again, I'll pick my own company to do it through. I said, no to it, not them. ;) -

Arkine: New job, tired and probably won't be around as much. Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up.
RavenShrift: Maybe that will give me time to get caught up with the story. Ha ha. -
Arkine: ~L~ It should, I haven't had time to even work on the next chapter for the last two days. ;) -
shelley kaye: and a tails down? or was it a two-headed coin?
    -
    Arkine: ~LOL~ I think I got tricked and it was a two-headed. -

Arkine: Me, Jane, beat publisher over head with stick and drag back to cave.

~LOL~ No, I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every fricken minute of it! Muaahahhah....

Okay, so I was bored inbetween reading and felt like posting something here.

Arkine: Okay, apparently I deleted an entire earlier post. Summary, Book 1 is disabled. Sorry, but I'm hoping it'll be under contract soon.

Arkine: What's with the pictures on the home page now?

Arkine: The additions/revisions to Book 1 have been completed and I have re-submitted it to the contest. Hopefully, it does well. PS. I wouldn't bother reading the one that is on this site. The last 15 chapters have changed dramatically along with some adjustments to certain characters. No, I won't be updating the site because I'm busy working on Book 4. Sorry. But book 1 will be published one of these days. Hopefully sooner than later and I will definitely let you know when it is. :) Thanks!

Arkine: Strangers (Nihility Book 4) is on hold for the moment. I have entered book 1 into a competition and after a professional critique I was given a few minor suggestions to make it better. I will be working on those to meet the deadline of Jan. 21. Thanks all! :)

Arkine: Hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!

Arkine: Sorry that I've been away for a while folks. I will try my best to catch back up with everyone!
K-Patrick: I too have not been around. I am glad I showed up in time for the next set of pages. -
Arkine: Hey, K-P! I was wondering if you were still around. Glad to see you! ;) I'm throwning a kink in this though, I skipped over book 3 and went to book 4. ~L~ -
Lois Delaney: Hey, Arkine. You like Sherlock Holmes, too? There is a Nanowrimo contest posted. Rather than one month, it will take three. Have you thought of joining? Just wondering. -
Arkine: It's been forever since I read Holmes. I didn't realize there was another Nano contest. I normally save all my new stuff for November but I'll go check it out. Thanks, Lois! :) Sorry it took so long to reply it just didn't click that there was a new post here. ~L~ -
