Oh, traction is the one thing I don't like about winter. Picking just the right shoes is so difficult. I agree with your pleas to spare up the from the wind and the cold and falling!!

Hello Yvette.
I don't participate in blind entry contests anymore and haven't participated in a site contest in about a month.
I don't see blind entry contest since I don't get in that deal.
I make my post every week and that's about it. This is a funny one. One thing I don't want to lose in the winter is my traction.

LOL!! I just hate cold weather from beginning to end, Z!! ;) :) I actually enjoy the 'blinds' cuz folks don't know it's me (sortof self-evident, I know, but it's actually a draw for me...) ;) :) Thanx for the review, sir, and take care! ;) Yvette

Hello Yvette.
I haven't been on here much because Internet problems are plaguing me. You're welcome.

LOL, uh, yesssss! This is NOT funny (yes it is) because I am one who has to live with all that white stuff almost half the year. Best of luck in the booth with this one. Adorable!

LOL The picture says it all! How many times I've landed on my behind on the ice and snow. It's very embarrassing especially when you can't get back up by yourself! And a picture is worth a thousand words!

Sometimes, we see the half-glass full of water and forget to remember about the other (the empty one). But reality teaches us that the part that we forget to see (or consider) exists and is as present as the full one. Similarly, Winter may have a nice face (with snowmen) but sometimes people suffer from the "hardest" side of winter. Your poem tells how painful it could be for our bodies to check the hardness of ice water..

Great entry for the Ode To Winter writing prompt contest. Good syllable count and connection between lines. I like the alliteration of T. Good luck in the contest.

There is always a bit of trepidition for me when winter shows itself. I live where we get a fair bit of snow and with my long commute to and from work, I am grateful for traction!

A very well-written ode to winter that may bring wind and cold with snow which many prefer not to receive when they slip on the slippery snow.

This is an unique entry for the Ode to Winter Contest. Your illustration pairs perfectly and sets the stage for your words. I like the closing line, "Take not our traction." Nicely done.
