Hello, Roy,
Thank you very much for adding a chapter to our renga book. We are up to 82 chapters! Your 7/7 couplet fits in nicely with my 5/7/5 poem. Your poem is a reminder of what Jesus Christ did for all of us. His sacrifice shows true love. Well done!

Well this is definitely in the right format and strongly reminds the reader that it is better to live in modern times than in Biblical times or to be shanghaied into a ship.

Wow, Roy - you really took those poppies to a visceral level with this one -- like the turn for the Renga with this one, even though it and the poppies take it into a bit of darkness... ;) :) Thanx for sharing, sir -- have to jump in and do another piece soon! ;) Yvette

This is a very interesting piece of work. The artwork is really cool, and the wording provides a vision of the meaning. I am going to bring this up to my son, as he is into Japanese writing and anime.

A very well-written couplet about whipping someone with a rod until blood is drawn us a terrible punishment used in slavery for any wrongdoings. An excellent addition to the multi-author Renga book.

Graphic! Kudos for managing to convey this dreadful image in few words--I don't think the picture is necessary--a note would suffice to give context. Nice work. Cheers. LIZ

Your words bring forth a strong Biblical image. I think of Jesus being flogged. "The bite of the rod" is a strong line that impacts the reader. You created a vivid image that brings forth emotions.

Thank you for adding this 7-7 to the Renga collection. Your addition of the illustration adds to the intensity of your words.
P.S. Sally Law recently cited that you introduced Emily Romano's brevette form. Is it capitalized and are there any limitations about the title. Thanks- Joan

Thanks so much Joan, for these wonderful comments and great review, blessings Roy PS In the brevette form to my knowledge, capitals are optional, but just three words, (Subject) noun, verb and (object) noun, Ongoing meaning, I.E. ?snails, l e a k, slime? optional length on title. Hope that helps.

Yes, that helps. I also went on-line and found the second line should be spaced out to show an ongoing action. Cheers- Joan
