I enjoyed reading this excellent poem with the image of the autumn leaves crunching under the hooves of the deer and tying it to the whisper of the creek. Thanks for sharing your creativity. Bill

Loved the sounds of your poem! The consonance of "rust leaves" and "crunch...cloven" and finally "soft susurrus" and that last one is onomatopoeic, too! Hope you do well in the contest!
