This was a well told account frustration. Many readers will be able to identify if they've ever driven in similar situations. My frustration is always getting off Storrow Drive coming out of Boston. Unbelievable. Another our place, our driver was almost in tears was when we were trying to get AWAY from London. We kept finding ourselves headed TOWARD London. Thanks for sharing your adventure. Now we don't feel so alone.

Aaaaah.... the adventures we had as parents, yeah? :) And you're so right about driving in DC - what a nightmare! ;) :) A fun offering for the contest, here -- thanx for sharing and best of luck at the polls! ;)

Oh, traveling with children is a hassle which I am very familiar with. Getting lost in big unfamiliar cities is another headache I've survived. Well written!

I could see you and your family driving around in an unfamiliar area. You did a good job with your contest entry. It reads at a good pace. Trips with young kids are always interesting. One never knows what will happen next. Hope you enjoyed your stay.
Best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

I have ever been to Washington, D.C., but I enjoyed hearing about your driving adventure. If I go, I'll take cabs wherever I go. You might add more details about how your passengers reacted as you floundered through traffic.

Well, the things parents experience with their kids could fill several books of unfortunate memories. You did a good job of bringing us along for the trip.
Good entry.
