The author's words are clear, thought provoking and creative. I pondered on the theme of this poem. I found it sad, descriptive, and filled with
emotion. The poem flows and connects well. Hope you had a great day!

...I have to love you from afar. That is sometimes what needs to be and this poem is a wringer in that I think many can relate. There comes a time when we have to draw a line - I just wish we could see what is truly important in life and not get caught up in pride and vice.

This is a very emotional, moving, descriptive poem that bares the very soul. My temper--I have to pray about it, a lot. My relationship with my father was sometimes hard; he was very critical, often with NO reason except he was in a lousy mood. I managed NOT to distance myself from him, though. I look back and am so glad I didn't withdraw from him.

Great writing in this unique poem about your relationship with your mom. That is an extremely tough issue to deal with. Sometimes things can get so bad with parents that you even have to refuse to spend any time with them since they are so destructive. That is really sad. Bill

very well done. I can relate reminds me of my relationship to my own Mom who was a very difficult woman to love. And my Mother-in-Law who had a hatred thing towards my wife from the day she was born. I could have written this about that fraught relationship. Loved it.

This is such a wonderful but heart wrenching poem. It is so hard to distance ourselves from those we love. But if they are angry and hurtful, what can we do as adults? I admire your ability to forgive and love your mom. Hopefully, this will change her, but if not, it has already made you a loving person. Thank you for sharing this outstanding poem.
Sending you my best today as always and blessings for your day,
Sally XOs...

I think maybe we have the same mom - lol. I have the same sort of problem with my mother. Your poem is very heartfelt and a good read. At the beginning, it flows well. As it went, though, I sort of lost the flow. Still, overall a nice piece of work.

We can only be ourselves in this world and be proud of who we are, wearing your heart on your sleeve is not a bad thing and people will be drawn to those who show care and consideration, being hurt by some uncaring soul is unfortunately part of life, but never change who you are, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

I moved from Ohio to Tennessee to get away from my controlling mother. So, you're not alone. What a wonderfully written poem. Best of luck with your writing!

Have a great day and God bless.

This is so beautiful and so real. You have to be proud of yourself for actually letting go and opening up to the world. That is a hard thing to do. Congratulations. Give yourself a hug and go eat ice cream or something. Great job on this post.
