Edgy poem dealing with a difficult relationship. I don't know if this is biographical or fiction but you captured the tone of the daughter trying to forge her own way in life. Whether we admit it or not, we all have issues with our parents. Love exists. But mutual respect is hard to achieve.

Excellent write

Stay safe and healthy

Blessings Julia

A mantra you may find helpful. Repeat times in an affectionate voice. Morning and evening

"The relationship I have with (your mom's name) generates happiness harmony and peace of mind. We are truly blessed with unconditional love"

    Take care and stay safe

    Blessings Julia

This feels like profound teen angst or young person angst in almost a letter-like tone or language style. I think young readers will especially relate to this.

There is much wisdom in recognizing that if you are powerless to change a bad situation that you have the power to distance or remove yourself from. That s the exact step that you must take. Your love for someone who does not return that love in kind, must not be allowed to weaponize the love you have as a means of hurting or punishing you. Put as much distance as is possible from the source of the hurt and you will be happy. That in the end, is the thing that you owe to yourself. Very good write.

There's a saying that goes like this, "Having a daughter is like waking up each morning with a little bit of yourself in the room" yes, I can relate to this, having a daughter and a granddaughter, who adore one another, but yet will always, but I get on well with them both, because dad and granddad. Beautifully written my I loved this, blessings Roy

What an amazing poem! This is not only relevant for the relationship between a mother and daughter for most relationships, what I really liked about your poetry is that the daughter doesn't hate her mother rather she finds a solution to continue loving her and I am pretty sure this poem was written from the heart ;)

What a great write from the heart. Your poem tells the reader a story of what a daughter might do to control her world a bit, that has let her down. It is a story of victory to me because you still love your mother, but you are wise enough to know being apart from her is the best scenario for now, even though not ideal. There is freedom in taking charge of your life and doing what's best for you, and just loving someone from afar...and definitely praying for them. Sad at first, I find the ending a reason to feel a little peace:)
Best to you always. This write is from your heart and is valuable.
Tina

well written but so sad. If this is true, I'm so sorry that your relationship with your mom turned out so bad. I can't relate because my mom and I were close, but I feel the pain coming through the words you wrote. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings, I appreciate it.

Very moving.. it shows that although emotions can be controlled. And you wear your heart on your sleeve. Uncontrolled. Your vulnerable to her mistrwatment. You cant seem to control your feelings to forgive your mom because she does things to hurt you or make you sad.. the first verse is right on target.. and the ending really ends it well. I felt something towards this poem because me and my father dont always see eye to eye and he does things to upset me. But hes my dad he brought me into this life. So maybe you can look at it that way with your mom and try and work it out...try and sence what shes going through. ask some questions. Say hey mom i know you love me and you braught me into this world. But why do you think i deserve all this grief. Is something bothering you. Do you have misplaced hate. Is there a problem your having and cant figure it out.. what i mean by this is as men we have to be strong for women because they're hormonal emotional talkative messes.. so instead of hating her try and be strong enough to put your reacting feelings to what she does to you and try and get to the bottom of her mistreatment towards you.. shes your Mom and we only get one.i hope I helped. If you do decide to take my advice. And it works. I'd like to hear about it so hmu.. great poem very touching.

Thanks!! I firmly believe she loves me but doesn?t like me per week. I?m most like the only person she despises with a passion which is my bio dad and I?m a constant reminder of him.
