You did a good job with your poem, Linda. I enjoyed reading it. The art choice works well. Life does lead one down many corridors where s/he has to make choices. Some are good, some are bad. However, there are no do-overs. Once a door is closed, it needs to stay closed. The person needs to move on and improve if the choice was bad--did they learn from their mistake. If so, there are other doors that will open which are positive.
Respectfully, Jan

I'm not sure what you mean Linda, but I'm guessing that their are many pitfalls in this world that keeps drawing us to courts of pleasure, of the sensuousness of the fleshly pleasures, that is being denied during this period of denial because of isolation. Well done Linda, good job, blessings Roy

Hi Dos, we've all been there....and done that my wonderful friend...

but would you really not wanted to make that bad choice...and just walk away...or be grateful for the good memories stored...I have many bad memories...but with the good...made me who I am...I can live with that...and I still have a lot more to make...good or bad...

I just hope when I land...I will be standing up...LOL....

love your poem my wonderful friend...a poem for thought...and love your picture...very well written sweet girl...much love coming your way...Uno...xxoo

Hello livelylinda I like your free verse and your ending lines
I agree Don't go back there . . .if you went down the long corridor and each door you opened and each door was a bad choice.
The choice you made for the photo was an excellent choice

I enjoyed this poem because it made me think of "the road less travelled" from the closed doors with nary a one saying "do over'". We're always told that when one door closes, another opens, but that doesn't always happen. Instead, we embark down a long "corridor", unsure of which door to open, but knowing we have to if we don't want to repeat past mistakes.

Your last two lines are a great conclusion for imagery "fire breathing dragons in pretty palaces". The days of Puff the Magic Dragon are gone once we "grow up", replaced by fire-breathing ones.

Who can we trust? Which door is right for us?

That's why I loved your poem, because it had me thinking and asking the above questions.

I loved your poem and the image was perfect for your piece. It look beautiful but in your poem there was a sinister feel. Thank you for sharing your interesting poem with us. ~Brenda

There is wisdom in your words. We all need to not return to our corridors of bad choices. "losing her way in old storms" is a perfect line that fits your poem perfectly. It impacts the reader.

I like it, which sounds drab, cause I am not a good reviewer.
What I do know is How writing, especially poetry, makes me feel.
So here goes. Your poem makes me feel like the journey of life
and the choices we make ( the doors) and not being able to go back.
And the Dragons, ( I love Dragons) stand for dangers or problems
we will confront, and they may come from the most unlikely places.

Hello Linda,
Your illustration is so beautiful and fitting for your poem. Also, you selected a great title, "The Corridor of Bad Choices." Your lovely poem about all the surprises in our lives behind each door we open is creatively written. We usually don't have a do over on the doors we open. Some doors look like pure gold while others are really plain old pewter. Nicely written. Happy future writing:-)

I like this concept twist you put of skeletons in the closet. Creative and dramatic. Great image you chose to go with it. The presentation with the color all works very well together.
