Hi Linda, I loved this well written poem. As I see it, she was able to walk away from bad experiences and bad memories. She has learned her lesson, and can hopefully now start over. That's what I take from the poem. Ulla:)))

I think that you wrote a beautifully written poem. I love how the main character is able to walk away from past mistakes and move on. It is really inspiring for readers who also want to move on. Thank you for sharing!

That was a true metaphoric masterpiece, Linda. I like those "corridors of life". There are many creative finds here, the imagery is incredible, and I love the artwork!

corridor was long and winding
walls, floors, doors painted pretty
no sign of what's behind each door

can she just peek then walk away
without choking on past mistakes
losing her way in old storms

That was amazing. I wish I had a six for it, alas, my larder is empty.

I like the allegory.A hidden messsage one has to understand to progress in life.We are what we think and what we choose in life. A beautifully written poem that touches the heart.

In my opinion, I was reluctant to rate this "Exceptional" work with the Six Stars it deserves, because I didn't want my rating to appear as a reciprocal one - it isn't - this is a superb write, nostalgic and also reflective in smooth free verse, for me and probably everyone else - loved it, and thank you for sharing...

Words of wisdom creatively presented in poetic form. I love the imagery of the long hall full of choices. What is behind each door? Life does not offfer do overs. So, choose wisely...we will pay the price for a mistake. No freebies here...

This is wonderfully done. I liked: thechosen picture looks like we are going on a journey down the hall;your words let us journey in her mind; the lack of punctuation makes me feel like I get her rambling, fearful thoughts, maybe regrets; you let us consider a choice to "do over" or let sleeping dragons lie; your whole presentation fits together like a puzzle pieces meant to go together; your creativity, word choice, excellent imagery and story-telling are effective.

Life is a series of choices. Most of the gilded doors are the worst ones, and the ones plain, can be a pleasant surprise. The reminded me of "Let's Make a Deal" of life. Excellent job, dear Linda and aptly illustrated.
Sending you my best today as always,

I love what you write in here. It has parts of my own story; once I wrote about the long dark corridor that you are talking about. Such a compelling story, I would like to know more about...
