You have covered almost every issue related to pregnancy. There will be no reader exempted. I love that you have addressed people's reactions. So true. Another conflict develops when the parents get way into the future with plans and dreams for the child. This could create a sense of disappointment which could be read by the child. And the more prominent issue arising is if the child feels they were born with the wrong genetalia. I am voting for this one.

Thank you! I appreciate your review, your time, and your vote:)
Meeting other's expectations is a tough challenge-- starting from birth:)

Ah, the best-laid plans. I liked how you structured this story with thoughts and diologue only. Let's see how good these parents will be. Well done and best of luck in the contest.

Thanks for reading and the good wishes:) It is humbling to look back on my own fantasies of parenting:)

No pressure, baby...
You've done a great job in portraying these different viewpoints that show others' opinions about the forthcoming arrival of baby, but the expectation that will cause the most harm comes from the mother herself. I sure hope her child develops broad shoulders, an understanding heart, a thick skin, and isn't gay. There'll be enough complications.

Definitely not my personal feelings. I was going for the inconsistency
we each can have in our views, sometimes not realizing how narrow they are.
I will own that I am guilty of uttering "Because I said so.' despite my pre-mom view that children always should have a voice :0
Thank you for your review:)

You portrayed that inconsistency really well... all those people offering their opinions can be very confusing to hear.

I think this is a good entry for the Pregnancy contest.
This short piece tells of various reactions to the good news.
Well done and I wish you good luck with the contest.

A very well-written prose about the news of pregnancy and how different everyone involved react to the news. Mostly expect things from the new baby to change things around in their lives.
Typo
I've always wanted t(to) be a mom; to have someone to love completely and have that love returned
