Congrats on your win for this delightful bit of wit and wry humor. Love is indeed all that you say--witty, wicked, and wise (I missed witty and wise, got wicked twice). Cheers. LIZ

well, Sir Lancelot, if love has caught you, I hope it's good and true this time, but I doubt seriously, that its eyes are on me.
Your accompanying picture is peaceful and inviting. and cool! with the hurricane coming, we're supposed to be muy cliente this weekend. Anyway, good luck to you.

Wonderfully "snarky" and full of true love angsts. Ah yes....Love may be blind sometime- but not when she has set her eyes upon you....
Love like King Arthur and Queen Guinevere's is destructive and seductive......good bye Camelot....
And love is all the things you say it is...and much much more.
I loved your poem- but I am also well aware of the wonderfully delicious power love entails.
Well done Sir Poet. Well done!

What a beautiful poem this is, Lance. One of your best so far, that I have read and reviewed. One can feel the real emotion emanating from each line. I especially liked these lines:
"You think you are strong.
In love, you'll not fall.
But, Love uses soft eyes,
to make fools of us all."
How true that is. Bob

Cute, I like your poem, and the way you express love. The forth paragraph is the part I like the most. Thank you for sharing. I also thought the picture was very nice.

Great ending for this. "And now its eyes are on you." As you write, we may expect love to be perfect, but it doesn't always turn out that way. Even those who say they won't fall in love may be stricken. We think of many examples of the strong, even the gods, who have been overthrown for love. Excellent line about love being witty, wicked, and wise. Best of luck in the contest. judi

Well done abcb quatrains which so both sides of love. It can cause as much pain as joy. Pain when people betray you or die. Joy during a good relationship and when children are born.
Good luck, keep writing and stay healthy.

This is a nice witty poem in a traditional rhymed quatrain style that illustrates the power of love to make all of us, no matter how strong, quake in the breeze. It brings down the high, uplifts the low, turns us about and leaves us panting, with a cloyed tongue, to paraphrase Keats. estory

Love can indeed be responsible for all you mention here, but it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all as they say, you took me on a rollercoaster ride here in your poem, much enjoyed, love Dolly x
