Oh NO! I went to Yvonne's page when I read another dedication to her -- what has happened seems evident to me now, reading your beautiful poem, Sandra... She has lost someone!
May God be with you, Yvonne, if you read this... Praying for you and yours!

Thank you, dear Dawn. Yes, Yvonne had a very sad loss, it was her son, the worst possible loss. Death in the family is always sad, but to see your son go before you, is not what is supposed to happen. I don't know how anyone copes with that. Thanks for reading, and the six stars, my friend. You take care, and stay safe. Warm hugs, Sandra xx

Hello Sandra, I had no idea Yvonne (DaMommy) had lost her son. She will be devastated. How do we recover from the loss of a loved one? I lost my brother last year and I was devastated and still shed a quiet tear. How old was her son? My heart goes out to her. Your poem is beautiful and I am sure she will gain some comfort from it. Lovely Sandra! Love Dorothy xxx

Hello, Dorothy. No, I'm not sure how old he is. I just know she is totally devastated, as I would be if I lost one of mine. We don't expect to go to our children's funerals. So very sad. Thank you for your kind review, my friend. It was a sad one to write. Lots of love, Sandra

I did not know Yvonne, but I am happy that the FS community has come together and shared this loss. I know it's comforting to the family to know they are loved.

It is, Thank you, Barb. To lose your child is like cutting your heart out. I don't know how people recover from such a loss. So sad. Sandra xx

Hello Sandra.
A beautiful sonnet and prayer with a 'feather-touch'
that will bring comfort to Yvonne, knowing how much
love and care her friends share in this most difficult time.
Your words offer hope and comfort for the inexpressible.
Beautiful.
Robert

Thank you, Robert. That's all we can do, pray for her and her family, and just let her know we care. So very sad. Warm hugs, my friend. Sandra xx

Just a little smidgeon of hope might be all a person needs to take the edge off of a sad and lonely day filled with loss. The reminder that they will meet again. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Ralf. It's the hardest poem any poet can write, to try and bring comfort to a friend who has lost a child. I do hope one day as Yvonne reads through all the poems Fanstorians have written, they will bring her the comfort she needs. Thank you, my friend. Sandra xx

An absolutely great poem for Yvonne (damommy) in the passing of her son. Regardless of how old we get, as long as ones mother is still alive we are always a child and once a mother always a mother who loves and cares. It is hard when a loved one dies but always more difficult when it is our child. Great poem Sandra.

Thank you, Alie. A mother should never see her child die, it's not the right way of it. I can't begin to imagine how that poor lady is feeling right now. Warm hugs, my friend, and stay safe. Sandra xx

Sandra,
What a sad but encouraging piece! Isn't it comforting to know that, no matter what we go through, we are never, ever, ever facing things alone? *smile*
It's an amazing blessing that those outside of Christ will never understand.
My favorite lines were:
*
He knows you're angry, this He understands.
We are mere mortals, faith will see us through.
One day, you'll be together once again;
till then my prayers, I hope, will ease your pain.
*
I seem to have missed what's going on with Yvonne. (DaMommy, right?) Can you tell me what's happening?
Thanks so much!

Thank you, Robyn, yes, it's a poem I would rather not have written, but Yvonne's precious son has died. I can't imagine how she must feel. Yes, it's damommy. I'm glad you thought the words were comforting, it's hard to think of the right words to say. Sending you warm hugs, my friend. Sandra xx

A very well-written prayer/poem for Yvonne. The only think we can do for her is to comfort her with prayer and carry her through this time of grief and heartbreaking pain with her loss.

You are so right, Sandra. This must be the worst time in Yvonne's life. All we can do for her is, as you say, comfort with prayers. Thank you for reading my prayer for her. Warm hugs. Sandra xx
