Thank you, Ulla, for joining in to help grieve along with Yvonne. You're right that "sweet memories will intrude" into the gloom of this time of mourning and there will be the light of hope.

Thank a lot, Helen. I have known Yvonne since I joined back in 2014 and I was shocked when I learned about her terrible loss. Thanks a lot for your kind comments. Ulla:)))

Yvonne was my first Fanstory buddy, too. She's very dear to me.

As long as there is hope it can help all of us escape the gloom and doom of most anything. Hope, a giant four letter word, and one that wouldn't have caused my mouth to be washed out with soap, had I made the right choice. Thanks for sharing.

Loss

Hello, Ulla,
This is a beautiful poem for Yvonne. I know she suffered a great loss of her son. Poor thing, I can't even imagine how hard it must be. Your poem reminded me of how I felt when my mother died. Well done!

That was lovely, Ulla. I think it's to show how much we care, and that is what always counts. I thought your last two lines stood out so well, those memories are what will keep Yvonne going through the coming dark days. So sad, I feel so bad for her. Well done, my friend. Sandra xx

-Lovely artwork and
presentation, Ulla.
-You wrote a good poem
for Yvonne and show how
the bright day was darkened
with this sadness.
-But there is always hope
and "sweet memories" that
will replace the darkness.
-I know Yvonne will appreciate
your poem and thoughts.

Wow, Pam, thank you so much for your lovely review. I know I never promoted the poem. I never knew about her great loss. How difficult time it must be for her. My thoughts are with her. Ulla:)))

You are very welcome, Ulla. It is the thoughts that count and that are meaningful to those we care about. You can put a Happy Birthday wish on her profile page if you want. I think it was on Wed.

What a heartbreaking poem. You described mourning beautiful, the pain, sorrow of it all, and the dim ray of light that sparkles in the distance. Things your friend must be going through, nicely done.

Ulla:
This is a very comforting for a person who has experienced extreme loss.
Memories can sooth a hurting heart, and in this case I hope there is comfort for the persons affected.
Very beautiful poem, Ulla.

This very lovely and so deep and to a point. Sweet memories can and do revive us from falling into the depths of despair. It can be life-saving, even. That dark pit is like quicksand, for sure and that ray of truth - good memories can cut through with the ruminants of love still attached that give us hope, strength and enough inertia to crawl back towards the land of the living. Believe me, I've been there and know this all too well, my wise and talented friend. Bruce.

Ulla, this is a sweet, kind poem for our friend and fellow FanStorian Yvonne, "damommy," who has experienced a loss too grievous to imagine. I didn't know her especially well, but we exchanged some reviews and replies, and I know she's a lovely person. I am praying for her, and for her family in their time of profound loss.

Hi Mary Kay, I've known her for years on this site but never learned about her loss before late last night, my time. That's how this poem came about. Thank you so much. Ulla:)))

You're very welcome, Ulla. I really feel for her and I don't know if she has other family members to provide support -- one can only hope! All I know is that her loss is very recent and very sudden.
I see in her profile a lot of poems about animals and nature, so lovely. May God give her strength.

Thank you for thinking about Yvonne and sharing this hopeful poem. There can be nothing worse than the loss of one's child, and I appreciated your reminder about "sweet memories". Sighs- Joan
