A perfectly rhymed writing prompt entry: internal rhymes: "shoes/muse", ending rhymes: "click/brick". Both verses have exact: six syllables counting as required by the Essence poem contest, too.The Subject title: Follow the yellow brick road- well describe indicating the exact functions that the guest-girl should act, cat walking, like a muse, along the road: yellow muse of brick, wearing her clicking ruby shoes.

You summed up the essence of The Wizard of Oz in two lines that flow very well. This could easily be a tag line for the movie. I think you captured the prompt perfectly. Very well done.

This is a very good entry for this essence competition as you sun up nicely the main ideas of "The wizard of Oz". I especially like the part "yellow muse of brick," it's very clever. Thanks for sharing this and have a great day

Congratulations on this simple, yet effective piece. My friends recently named their newborn baby Dorothy. Was the image of your own creation? If so, if I knew I would have given you an extra star! Anyway, good luck with the competition.

As one of the most colorful and gruff-pretend characters in the story says..
I do believe in this poem.
I do!
I do!
I cast my vote for this colorful and childhood memory recalling story and I really would not change anything..

A very well-written two line essence poem with inner and end rhyme to bring a message across to the reader of red Ruby shoes clicking on a yellow brick road.

That's really clever. You did a movie summary in this very demanding format with the internal and end rhymes! And the rhymes are creative, too! Best wishes in the contest!

Hi, I will keep my eye on this one as it should stand out in a contest, as you can relate it to the film with Ruby slippers and the like. Thank you for the offering as it were. Cheers Colin

This essence poem, Follow the Yellow Brick Road, has the proper formatting and alludes to images from the Wizard of Oz. These ideas bring thoughts of wish fulfillment and being somewhere better than one was before. Nice.
