Very descriptive and even though the second paragraph said the assassin
had arrived, the ending was still came as a surprise because the victim looked at her with adoration. But then why forgiveness? It is answered when she fired.
Good interesting story.

Oh nice work! Loved the surprise ending. If the story were to be expanded I could see that there would be a conflict of the wife working for the bad guy and he doesn't even suspected it. Or vice versa but either way he probably was spilling all the information to her so she could use it against him.
