Oh, wow - such a lovely sonnet from one who remains at home to the soldier far away... A wonderful offering for the Shakespearean contest here! ;) Thanx so much for sharing and best of luck at the polls! ;)

I'm not a big fan of the Shakespearean sonnet, but this touched my heart. A touching love story with the appropriate language, that las.stanza's particularly moving. Clever and striking picture.
You've earned a six star award from me ( rarely given )and my vote in the contest. Good Luck.

This poem was well delivered. It had that Shakespearean flow to it, which was on point. It also had just what a person who's away at battle needed to read so that they may make it back to their love. Fantastic Job Writer!

This Shakespearean sonnet, The Letter, has the proper formatting and makes the promises that a soldier makes and a waiting loved one holds on to.

Ah, such a letter must be every soldier's dream, and your sonnet is pure romance. I loved it all, but most especially your closing couplet. The artwork you chose is sublime, too. Good luck in the contest!

The picture reflects the poem, her words offer comfort to assure him he is missed, while letting him know to be careful. Also she gives a mental picture of him coming back home so they can rekindle their love, to heal the wounds of war.

This is both an encouraging and heart wrenching Shakespearean Sonnet to someone you love. There is hope of being reunited and carrying on with life.

This is a very lovely, moving, vividly descriptive sonnet. We all need to feel loved and know we're missed when we're absent, but this is especially true for soldiers. They need something to hold onto till they return.

This is a traditional love sonnet with a perfect meter and fine end rhymes and ideal for the contest, I adore the sentiments of this solider returning to a loving home after being at war, much enjoyed, love Dolly x
