Cute story and so true the things our lovely and lovable pets can do. If you think about it they really are not so different from ourselves and your story tells us just that .Loren

Whimsical yarn, I'd have thought, then find it's true! Delightful story--POV's of person/cat alternating--clever. Amusing ending re respective reward/consolation! Cheers. LIZ (re Pussy Heaven has a different connotation in the US.)

    Why, now, Eliz-a- beth!! What can you mean?? LOL in fits. to be sure I never thought of Pussy Heaven in any way other than where my fur babies go to wait for me when it's my turn. Perhaps I'll refer to their Hereafter as The Rainbow Bridge from now on.Snigger, snicker, tee hee.LOL. Now it's been pointed out to me I find it vastly amusing. Thanks for that. Nothing like a mid afternoon chortle to liven the day. cheers Cass

What a fun, true story, Cass. I loved reading it. I could ee everything that was happening because of your well-chosen, descriptive words. I love that Tiki 'hid' the doorstops--what a smart, but mischievious kitty. You portrayed them both well. All of the actions of the two kitties was perfectly described. The bond Tiki had with The Baby was super. Kitties know when someone doesn't like them or when someone needs comforting. I love your choice of image. Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

May I suggest:
Mum/ (delete the forward dash after Mum)picked him up and stroked his little bent back, a legacy of rickets as a kitten.

Mum also remembered the delicious cooked fish and gave them each a large,(delete comma here) saucer filled to the edges with delectable cooked whiting.

    Dear Jan Thank you for your review and the five stars. Yes those little things that put a spoiler on a piece of work do make a difference.Thank you for pointing them out. Life without a cat to care for has lost some of its savour, but as I had twenty cats altogether over 55 years of marriage I think I had my fair share of them. I now live in an aged care facility where pets aren't permitted.
    It is something of a lack that I feel keenly, but remembering and writing about those happy days are a relief and a comfort. cheers Cass

Haha I really enjoyed this story. I have a cat too and I'm
Sure he would do the same thing- cats love collecting objects. My cat tried to carry off my glasses the other day. Thanks for sharing this and have a great day

    Dear Oliver818, Than you for your review and the five stars Tiki was
    a great one for nicking small objects. Among some of them retrieved from his blankets were, a set of keys, a baby's dummy, an elastic petticoat hitcher, a few bottle tops and a very smelly bundle of feathers. Felix wasn't a hoarder although he had His Toys that no one dared to play with. cheers Cass

Cass,

I hear the most fascinating stories about cats and their ingeniousness! My son has two cats and is forever sharing stories that boggle the imagination. haha

My hubby and I are dog people but it almost makes one long for a kitty - just for the amusement factor!

Some notes:
1.) stirred and opened one sleepy green eye(.) (move period over)

2.) "That door shouldn't slam(,)" he told
--> the punctuation goes INSIDE the quote marks
--> need to fix these throughout the piece, please

3.) " I thought you put a door stop against that door last night," said Daddy.
--> there are several places where the spacing is off. Need to go through and correct, please (see the opening of this sentence, for example)

4.) Some of this is just SO clever -- the words you use add so much to the post - bringing the scene to life:
--> Wassamatter
--> fossicked
--> smoodge

5.) Mum/picked him up and stroked his little bent back, a legacy of rickets as a kitten.
--> delete the slash mark

6.) Mum also remembered the delicious cooked fish and gave them a large, saucerful each.
--> no comma

I enjoyed this story a lot - even more because it's true! Thanks so much for sharing!

    Dear Robyn, Thank you for your review and the five stars. You have pointed out some things which I, in my haste to get the piece finished, have neglected to deal with in the proper way. Thanks again for your vigilance. cheers Cass.
