I think as you've so eloquently stated, young minds an hearts can be influenced by what older folk have conditioned them with whether it be truth or not. When I was a young lad, I was alone a lot because I never followed the crowd. I would always aspire to follow what was right and true because truth is colorblind. Thanks for sharing this inspirational and well written work. Well done!

Seems the whole idea of being an independent thinker these days is so rare ... but I can't think of anything that we need more of, yeah? :) :) Thanx so much for your review on this one, Jeffrey -- it's always so good to hear from you over here!! ;) Take care and have a wonderful weekend! Yvette

Your poem is very meaningful and I enjoyed reading it. It rhymes well and you used all the required words. It flows well with insightful meaning and your arwork choice is interesting. Best wishes!

You've used your four words beautifully as you went through the verses Yvette.Violence leaves lasting memories in the young and old, as you say, 'minds will ne'er unlearn' Lovely presentation,
cheers,

This poem, What Have You Wrought, has the required words, FIRE COLD ICE BREATH, and reminds us that what we are made to learn in youth, good or bad, is with us for life.

This is an easy to read, easy to understand poem entry for the Use These Words Poetry contest. It should do well. I wish you the best of luck!

Stellar, Mystery Writer!
I appreciate the message and the formatting!
Much raw emotion fills your well-crafted stanzas.
Reads very well aloud, and should be heard by many.
Your words resonated deeply with me!

Best Wishes!

So beautifully said! You speak for all of us as we can't believe the outrage of the young souls that can't curb their anger or direct it to productively work to bring about peaceful changes. Creative use of all the required words! Best wishes in the contest!

Sadly, I have now six to give you, but you deserve a 7 anyhow. I love this for its truth and energy and just the fact that you felt strongly enough to post this. I have no clue how you or your muse created these evocative phrases, but well done. This reader comes away from this poem sad about things that have been destroyed, but mostly that minds have been destroyed and future's altered...all over lies.
Just telling it as I see it:)

This is so good I've read it three times! You've used the required words not in a superficial way at all, but in a very deep reflection of the affect on our youth of all the world is demonstrating. Love the line: "Remember even ice can burn..." How true! We'd best be thinking of the inheritance of hate and division we are leaving for our children!--Karenina

A strong message that applies to the current violence taking place in our nation's larger communities. The message is sincere and worth contemplating; poetically, the overall piece feels a little stretched at times to make rhyme occur. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings.
