I like how well you described that transition into cold weather. My favorite lines were the first three lines of the second stanza which personifies the "fingers" of ice that create that lace on the windows. Best wishes in the contest!

Thanks so much. With all the smoke we have one can't see the mailbox from the porch. Maybe we won't be able to see Fall or Winter either...lol

Who doesnt love Fall turning to winter, its such a nice season. I like the pretty imagery, the lacy patterns on the windowpanes. Your poem uses the key words so well. i like the feeling at the end where we bundle warmly once again. Happy anticipation is created here.
