I remember as a student at the beginning of each year we had a celebration which included the cleansing ritual performed by a Elder something similar with what you described:""I know the ritual. Many of us do. When a sister, daughter, mother, or relative of a family goes missing, the house will be smoked up with sage and cedar for protection and purification for the loved ones."

Thank you for your appreciative confirming review. I get an email called Native Hope. I was just reading an article that said during a yearly motorcycle rally the abductions increase. they manage to arrest between 7-9 offenders. Not even a drop in the bucket. I hope my story opened up some people's eyes.

A very interesting mix of the past and present. I am really saddened to read about the abductions. I assume that is true. That not only happens on Native American reservations. It is an epidemic. Your story is very interesting, I enjoyed reading it.

A good continuation of your story here. Well written and well developed. I was struck by how humans throughout civilizations and across cultures have mementos, items of meaning and rituals that they use to give them hope especially when their worlds have spun out of control.

Oh, such a pity, this story has come to an end. It was wonderful to follow and to learn so much about these Indian tribes. So much I had absolutely no idea of. All the rituals for example the parents and other members of the tribe performed when the girls were missing...well, they returned safely in the end, so it helped!
Beautiful last chapter.

Thank you for your supportive review. Now I'm sad, already missing the girls. Have you experienced that after spending an extended time with your characters?

Yes, Liz. I know what you are going through. I have a very guilty conscious of leaving my protagonist and her daughter alone without writing about her for a long time and leaving her waiting for my sudden urge to write a lot of poetry. Must come back to my novel very soon.

You did a wonderful job with this chapter, Liz. You addressed the poverty of the reservation and the struggles to survive. Great details were provided about the housing. It was no surprise that the families rushed to meet their loved ones as did the others of the tribe. I am so glad you plan to continue Liz and Linda's adventure, it is indeed a story worth telling.

Thank you for such a loyal following and review. Much of this was based on research and fact. I'm thinking I will review the full story by Liz & Linda saying" how did we get here?" Or something like that. There are actually about 4 previous adventures.

Oh, then I will have to find them, you are so welcome.

So is this the end of this story? Or will another adventure greet Liz and Linda? I was wondering how they will get their car started again. Just getting to the car won't be enough.
Thanks for this wonderful adventure you told us as well as revealed what life is like on this reservation. Is this based on any true story?
And we really need to be on their way." ("our way" instead of "their way"?)

Hi Liz, I now realise how long it takes to put something like this out there but only half the words for me I guess now I am into prose, as it were.
This is a fantastic update of the previous chapter and something to be proud of. cheers Colin x

What a great ending to your story. It's well-written, very interesting. I love the bits of Indian traditions, the rituals you threw in, the reason for each one. I'm so glad the girls were able to get home safe. I imagine poor Liz and Linda will want to rest a while before they begin another adventure.

Thank you for your delightful review. I think I will have them review the previous adventures that no one here has read.

This is a great story with a happy ending. You have done a masterful job in writing about the Indians and their culture, their thinking, and their abilities. Well done!

Yes, I have too. I think this is where sequels begin...
