It is to true that when an animal gets to crossing a road they do not always fair well. I too am not fond of seeing poor helpless animals splattered across the road.

Even though this is gross, it caused a laugh.. I think that is what Lowku poems are all about. That, or a gagging sensation.
Nice illustration pick.

This is a fine thought for the Lowku Poem entry. Sometime short thoughts can really hit the spot, touch our heart, and even be encouraging. Well done!

A very well-written lowku poem about frogs trying to hop over the road and often ended up flat and dead on the surface of the road and no one seems to notice.

Oh, this is a challenging photo. I can't say that the frog in question is disgusting, as required by the form (lol), but I've seen prettier things than frogs (lol). The artwork speaks a thousand words. Excellent imagery and visuals, this should do well in the Lowku contest.

I don't usually give sixes for short poems, for reasons I hope you can understand, but this one made me laugh out loud and nod my head at the "frequently flat frogs" on the road! Very cute picture too, which enhances the humour of this very short, but sweet, haiku. Good luck, thanks for the laughs!

I had to laugh at this - it's so unfortunately accurate and gross. I ride a motorbike and in northern Australia there are big cane toads that get on the highway. I couldn't avoid running over one once and it exploded like a round custard pie and put gunk all over the underneath of my motorbike, which had hot exhaust pipes, so the smell of burnt toad was disgusting as well.

I was anxious to see a lowku. I hadn't seen one of those. I got a charge out of this one, as in my family we have a macabre habit of singing a particular song to road kill when we encounter it. No accounting for strange habits, eh? Cute poem. Good luck with it.

Yeah, I have to agree with you there, at least for those who live in the right climate. The poor road kill frogs, and I will include all road kills for that matter are disgusting and we do tire (no pun) of seeing them.
Good entry.

Poor frogs. They don't know any other way as many other creatures reach the same end. Your contest entry is in good form, Mystery Writer. Good job with the syllable count per line, the image, and sharing the sad message.
Best wishes.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan
