No, just helps us to imagine what it might have been like to be dead-center in one of these riots/protests. Regardless of which side you're on - the ones caught in the middle must be terrified - and I think you captured that well in this short piece.

You set the scene in the Diner well in each paragraph, the people, the food, then crash, an act of stupid violence disrupts the lives and livelihood of many. Well written, well told, enjoyed it.

I liked how you manged to turn a gentle scene at the start to something violent as the protesters arrived. Around the world this year there seems to have been an increase in the level of protests. I think it's a year that none of us will forget. I really enjoyed this piece and I loved the setting and how you brought it to life.
